Felix?

We are thinking of using Felix for DS, what do you think of the name?

We have a two syllable surname and are thinking of using Alexander as a middle name?

Grateful for your thoughts and advice! Smile

I like Felix! For some reason though it feels like more of a kids name, I can't imagine it on a grown man.

Chickoletta · 08/04/2020 16:30

Love it.

blondie87 · 08/04/2020 16:33

I like it. I know 2 under 2 but I have a lot of friends with young children so not wildly popular based on that!

FaithHopeandGlory · 08/04/2020 17:45

Thanks all! I get the Felix/cat/cat food but to me I think it's one of the fresher classic names and would totally work nowadays. (We have two cats that aren't called Felix and thankfully don't eat Felix food Grin)

Would you have any suggestions for something similar?

DH has already vetoed Sebastian, Theodore, Jasper, Casper (however I really like Caspian, and haven't mentioned that one to him yet!)

Any others you think that would be similar that don't make you think of cat food? Ha!

Still love Felix though and really reassured by the positive comments! @whatsyourflava I hadn't realised it was #93, seems rarer to me but I'm comfortable with that. I don't know of any in our area so that's good Smile

I’ve got a Francis which is in a similar vein to your other choices.

LouLouLoo · 08/04/2020 17:53

Seth?

Haworthia · 08/04/2020 17:54

I have one. No one has mentioned cats or cat food to him (or me) in five years 😄

Blursula · 08/04/2020 18:21

Love Caspian but DH vetoed it. Think we have similar tastes OP...

I really like it. I knew one once, he was a nice bloke.

Wolfgirrl · 08/04/2020 19:10

A bit posh and try hard IMO. Reminds me of the cat food and a plummy voice shouting FELIX lol

PorpentinaScamander · 08/04/2020 19:11

It's my friends brothers name. We called him "cat food" for years.

As an adult I think its lovely. but its still cat food

Pelleas · 08/04/2020 19:11

Wonderful name! Felicity is nice for a girl, too.

It’s the name of the Army bomb disposal fraternity, it means a huge amount to many very brave men and women.

Astronica · 09/04/2020 01:57

I love it and love Alexander for a middle.

safariboot · 09/04/2020 02:28

Felix is a cat's name to me.

Sdoo4 · 09/04/2020 09:59

I automatically think of it is a cats name but I really like it, think it’s quite cool for a name. You see so many weird and unusual names these days, much worse than Felix. I like it.

Sdoo4 · 09/04/2020 10:00

Also love it with Alexander. If you like it, go for it.

Goingtobeoldearly · 09/04/2020 10:07

It's quite popular at the school I know, theres atleast 3 in the same year

Emthebaker · 09/04/2020 13:40

I think it’s really lovely.

Thiswayorthatway · 24/05/2020 21:45

Why is it a cat's name Confused

bluemoon2468 · 24/05/2020 21:47

Everyone will say the cat thing, but I know 4 human Felixes and no cats...

We're using it as our son's middle name 😊
