A brother or sister for Nico?

Hi wise mumsnetters. We have just found out I am pregnant with DC2 - DS is Nico (Nicholas). It took us months to agree on his name so hoping to get a jumpstart with some early boys/girls ideas to muse with DH.

I like pretty traditional names but not too old fashioned and nothing 'faddy'. I haven't met another baby Nico yet which I like :-) any ideas?

Oooh I like both of those. Only problem with Reuben is the sandwich reference (we have American family).

Is Nico pronounced Neeko or Nicko? Sorry to derail!

nervousnelly8 · 07/04/2020 21:37

I'm loving some of these ideas. Of those mentioned, I like these the most:
Lucas (but maybe too popular)
Nathaniel
Alistair
Anthony
Jonathan
Silas

and Georgia
Thea (is this short for anything?)
Rebecca (but DH will veto)
Bethany

I have always found girls names much harder than boys!

@benscalesisagod - it's Neeko, I hadn't clocked that it might get pronounced Nicko but does make sense as a shortening. We've only had one or two people assume Nicko though IRL

I thought Neeko, just wanted to check as never heard it before.

I like all your boys names apart from Silas.
Thea is gorgeous. Could be Dorothea but I prefer the short version.

Haha so far on this thread, we have had suggestions for: my name (which is unusual), DH's name, my mum's name, both of DH's parents' names and both of our sisters' names - do you think we have a 'type'?!
