Hi we are trying to agree on baby boy names and could do with some help.. we've been living abroad for the past few years (but moving back to have this baby) and want to know if any (or all?) of these are super, super popular? We will be in the South East (not London though)
-Max
-Felix
-Toby/Tobias
-Fred/Freddie/Frederick

Thanks for any input :-)

Any thoughts on which of these girls names are 'over done' (or likely to be soon) or too trendy?
Alice
Rosa
Cleo

Thanks again

Freddie and Toby very popular. Love the others!

All of these girl names strike me as 'over done' soon - sorry OP Blush

How about

Juno
Alexandra
Onora
Iris
Anna

Just saw your post Namechange 30
Girls names I like but husband doesn't are: Phoebe, Celeste (CeCe), Emme, Erin and Zoey.
So I'm just left with Rosa, Cleo and Alice but bit worried they will be mega popular with multiples at nursery etc..

Toby was on our shortlist. I really dislike Sebastian

NameChange30 · 07/04/2020 15:56

I think Alice is popular (I know one aged 3) but I don't think Rosa or Cleo are particularly high on the lists. I like Rosa. Also like Phoebe. Does your DH have any suggestions?

Ellamab · 07/04/2020 16:00

Nope, not a single one Grin

Max, Fred, Toby or Felix Are all really lovely names Op
If you’re main concern is popularity then Felix and Toby are lower down in the charts aren’t they? I think they’re all lovely though and I don’t know any apart from a “Freddie”

Louise91417 · 07/04/2020 16:07

Toby..love that name..im not overly religious but also like the meaning..God is good...like Grace for a girl.

Wolfgirrl · 07/04/2020 16:07

Just out of interest but why the concern about popularity? I've never really understood this, either you like a name or you dont? In everyone's efforts to be different I reckon there will be millions of Ottilies and Otises in a few years.

Whatsyourflava · 07/04/2020 16:07

Both Rosa and Cleo are outside the top 150 names. Look at the percentage of babies with those names, it’s miniscule. Whilst its possible there will be 2 in a class or school, it’s very unlikely

FizzyGreenWater · 07/04/2020 16:09

Felix or Sebastian would be your less popular, but lovely and easy to say/spell choices. Love both!

Alice is always popular (and I hate it, for no good reason!), Rosa less so BUT Rosie/Rose are always about, and Rose is so much one of those filler middle names that it seems a bit overdone really. Cleo is getting more popular but will never be massive, really - so I'd go for that one.

Ellamab · 07/04/2020 16:27

Really helpful, thanks everyone.
Wolfgirrl.. it's just a personal preference for ds or dd not to be one of 3 or 4 in class that's all.

Loads to go on with the feedback... just need to be able to fly back now to actually have the baby! GrinShock

Thanks a million everyone

Felix or Freddie

TheVanguardSix · 07/04/2020 16:28

Cleo for a girl.

zigaziga · 07/04/2020 16:42

I love all these names.

Felix is a weird one because I would have said it was very rare a few years a go but I actually know more babies and young children called Felix than anything else! I reckon it’s a fast rising name, particularly around London / SE.

Ellamab · 07/04/2020 16:47

Zigaziga... thanks thats exactly why I wanted to ask on here... I swear the charts/stats don't reflect what's really happening.

Appreciate the info!
