I really dislike Francesca, though I know it’s popular on MN. To me it’s overly frilly and clunky.

Really dislike the name. Fran is horrible and cesca is harsh sounding together it's a bad combo of frilly harshness

Frankie is ok as a non Fran is just frumpy

Love Francesca. Friends sister has that name and is shortened to Chess which I think is nice.

I have a 10yo Francesca, she's either Francesca or Cesca... She dislikes Frankie, although that may change as she gets older. It's a beautiful name of which there are a few around but it's not overly popular. Timeless in my opinion, not dated at all

It’s an ok name but a bit dated I think. Frances is to my ears one of the old ladies names so is probably becoming more popular. I think Frances is pretty but Fran sounds ugly.

It’s my absolute favourite girls name. So it’s a yes from me. Regretted not calling DD it in hindsight. But am 34 years too late.

Not to my taste. Sounds pretentious to me and a bit precious too. But we can’t all like the same names.

Francesca Hope is smashing. Lovely choice. Sounds classy and kind. I have to agree with other posters that Mae is unfortunately very overused, mostly by people who, inexplicably, think they’re being rather daring by choosing something so... er... unique.
