Pearl Primrose - Yay or nay?

Less than a week until DD2 and we’ve finally narrowed down our list and I think Pearl is our favourite.

I really like Pearl Primrose but is it too much?

Surname is one syllable.

I'm going to be totally honest - for me it's a litttle OTT. BUT if you love it then that is honestly all that matters. I think it might be the alliteration combined with them both being word names. Like Rose Reef or Maple Meadow.

FluffyEggsontoast · 04/04/2020 13:55

Lovely. Middle names aren’t actually used that much anyway. I don’t even know what some of my closest mates (from school) middle names even are. Just pick 2 names you like.

Pearl is gorgeous

LotusClover · 04/04/2020 14:00

It's not too bad. I wouldn't choose it for my DD personally but believe me I've seen/heard much worse name combinations. Go for it if you like it.

eddiemairswife · 04/04/2020 14:00

Sounds like a nail varnish colour.

MikeUniformMike · 04/04/2020 14:04

I don't like Pearl much, makes me think of knit one, purl one, but she's not my baby. Agree about the nail varnish colour.

MrsCantthinkofaname · 04/04/2020 14:06

Okay, definitely not after a name that sounds like a nail varnish so maybe back to the drawing board 😂 Could be the pregnancy hormones

PP? PeePee? Whilst I think both names are really pretty, kids are mean so PeePee is a no from me.

donquixotedelamancha · 04/04/2020 14:09

Not got time to read the OP but I found this brand very easy to apply; only needed two coats for a good finish.

DD is 6 and loves the colour.

Er no

FredaFox · 04/04/2020 14:14

Sounds like a supplement for old women

Raera · 04/04/2020 14:17

Hope your surname doesn't begin with E

MrsCantthinkofaname · 04/04/2020 14:17

This has been very helpful as always and has now been crossed off the list 😂 Thanks everyone x

Pearl is absolutely full and Primrose much too cutsie. Awful.

ArsenicNLace · 04/04/2020 14:22

Awful not full.

diddlediddle · 04/04/2020 15:31

Each name on their own is nice but not together

Almondsincake · 04/04/2020 15:36

Not my taste. Sorry

otterbaby · 04/04/2020 16:10

I like Pearl and Primrose separately but together it does sound a bit overly girly for my taste!

bridgetreilly · 04/04/2020 17:54

Pearl Katrina
Pearl Olivia
Pearl Felicity
Pearl Hope
Pearl Melissa
Pearl Venetia

PrincessHoneysuckle · 04/04/2020 17:57

Pearl Faith
Pearl Eve

Pearl Primrose sounds like a name taken from a paint chart. While I quite like Pearl, I think it needs to be balanced by a stronger second name. Corinna, Imogen, Jessica are some ideas.
