Thoughts on the name Jonas? I prefer it to Jonah.

Prefer the second but Jonas good too.

PippaPegg · 01/04/2020 00:30

What like the Jonas brothers?

Sounds like Judas. Not good.

Wolfgirrl · 01/04/2020 00:35

Really not a fan of Jonah etc. To me it is a bit wet and is in the same camp as Tim, Theo etc.

WillWinterEverEnd · 01/04/2020 00:53

I like the name Jonas and know one.

How would you pronounce it though? Would it be 'Joe-nas' or Yo-nas'? The one I know answers to both.

NuffSaidSam · 01/04/2020 00:53

It just makes me think of Jonas brothers.

I prefer Jonah or just Joe. Or Joseph. Or Jago.

Jossina · 01/04/2020 04:26

I've always liked it.

Peachbubble · 01/04/2020 06:34

Not keen, prefer Jonah or Joel

Zagazooo · 01/04/2020 09:51

Love it. Nicer than Jonah, I agree.

Pinkypink · 01/04/2020 12:41

I think the Jonas brother association makes it a bit naff

MikeUniformMike · 01/04/2020 18:07

I don't understand why OT names are so popular.
I'd think of other names.

Of the two I'd pick Jonah.

VenusClapTrap · 01/04/2020 18:35

Horrible

DramaAlpaca · 01/04/2020 18:36

I like Jonas.

daisypond · 01/04/2020 18:37

It’s better than Jonah, at least. But John is lots better than both.

LouLouLoo · 01/04/2020 18:42

Don't like it at all. Makes me think of Judas.

ScissorsBike · 01/04/2020 18:48

I think it's really cool.

LochJessMonster · 01/04/2020 18:49

I like it. And Jonah. Doesn’t make me think of Judas at all.

AnneJeanne · 01/04/2020 18:51

Jonas is a great name. In a few years no one will even think of Jonas brothers.

I really like Jonas. It was a traditional name through several generations of my (Yorkshire) family. Solid, strong, unusual.

diddlediddle · 01/04/2020 21:24

I know a Jonas, it's nice

SoloMummy · 01/04/2020 21:37

I loved jonah, however was told that the name means someone who brings you bad luck, so I decided against.

JollyGiraffe12 · 01/04/2020 21:39

I don’t care for it sorry

winniesanderson · 01/04/2020 21:48

I think the as at the end puts me off it. Like it would feel awkward to say if you were referring to something of theirs. "Have you seen Jonas's shoes?"

bridgetreilly · 02/04/2020 14:03

I really like it.

Helpmefly94 · 02/04/2020 14:29

Jonah is better.
You say Jonas, I say brothers
