I love it. I wanted to use it. But my daughter was born on a Friday -didn't have the same ring to it.

bridgetreilly · 30/03/2020 11:23

Addams Family.

I think it sounds weird, sorry.

Whatsyourflava · 30/03/2020 11:25

It’s a day of the week and not a name😂😂😂

SionnachRua · 30/03/2020 11:27

Yeesh. No.

Mmsnet101 · 30/03/2020 11:27

Addams family

Lou670 · 30/03/2020 11:29

I like it. It would have been quite apt for either of my girls as both of them were born on a Tuesday!

jenthelibrarian · 30/03/2020 11:59

I think it is quite cute, but the day of the week is named for the Norse god of war [like Mars, Ares/Aries] so for that reason it's a nope from me.

Strongmummy · 30/03/2020 12:00

Awful

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 30/03/2020 12:00

I like it. There’s an actor named Tuesday Knight. No one blinks an eye lid at when people are named after months of the year or seasons do they, so what so bad about days of the week. I think she’d have to be born on a Tuesday though.

Hippywannabe · 30/03/2020 12:01

I know one. She is now an adult and a lovely person!

Tartyflette · 30/03/2020 12:02

It reminds me of a 60s 'starlet' called Tuesday Weld. She was very young and very objectified.
So, a bit too pornified to me.

Plumpcious · 30/03/2020 12:03

Yes but probably because I love Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next books and Tuesday is the name of her (extremely clever) daughter.

Disfordarkchocolate · 30/03/2020 12:05

I love Tuesday as a name, weirdly it always sounds exotic to me.

pinktransit · 30/03/2020 12:06

It was on my list for my daughters. They both tell me that they're glad I didn't use it.
I still like it though

Soubriquet · 30/03/2020 12:08

I like it

florascotia2 · 30/03/2020 12:09

Following on from what Jen said, the Norse god's name (Tyr; it became Tiw in England) is based on an older word that literally means 'great male god'. And 'day' means 'day'.

The first-known person in (relatively) recent times to use Tuesday as a name was actress Tuesday Weld, who used it as a stage name. It was based on her nickname, TuTu. That was based on her baby sister's attempts to say Tuesday Weld's given name, which was 'Susan'.

Rafflesway · 30/03/2020 12:10

Lovely!

WalledGarden · 30/03/2020 12:11

I don't mind it I used to teach a female Friday though it always gets me thinking 'Why Tuesday, and not Monday, or Saturday?'

peachypetite · 30/03/2020 12:11

You can do better than that

sleepingpup · 30/03/2020 12:13

love it

notacooldad · 30/03/2020 12:13

What's with tbe Sddams family?
I difnt think there was a Tuesday in it.
It’s a day of the week and not a name
April, may and june are names of months but are perfectly normal names, Summer and Autumn are also regularly used names.
I dont see a problem with the name Tuesday.
It's not a name i'd pick but its not outlandish.

yourestandingonmyneck · 30/03/2020 12:24

@jenthelibrarian Is that not Thursday? Ie Thor's Day?

Soubriquet · 30/03/2020 12:28

And it’s Wednesday on Adams family Confused
