Could you name some unisex baby names (for a girl - I know I said unisex)?

I like Rio for a girl. What do you think?

@Tillygetsit 😀😀

Duran Duran were guests on Saturday Superstore in the early Eighties, and the "send a postcard with the answer" question was "what does rio mean?". I sent loads - didn't win. That was when Simon said that orange Smarties were his favourites and he was deluged.

We have an Alex. Always amusing when she was a baby in a neutral babygrow and people hoped that hearing the name would help them figure out if she was a girl or a boy Grin

Have you added any suggestions to shortlist @sibbys - will try and think of some more suggestions. Are we on the right lines?

sibbys · 28/03/2020 19:29

I adore Billie, it’s one of our top names for a girl.

We also like Max for a girl, but not a fan of Maxine.

YahBasic · 28/03/2020 19:43

We also like Noa.

CalleighDoodle · 28/03/2020 19:54

My favs suggested:
Noa, Rio, Rory and Rowan

Whatsyourflava · 28/03/2020 20:40

@CalleighDoodle yes agree! Noa Rio and Rory are great. Aurora could have the nickname Rory
Rowan is just unusable these days due to similarly to Roman (with an M) which is current fastest rising boys name so too ubiquitous and ripe for confusion. Shame, a couple of years ago would have been a good choice for a girl (or even boy).

Billie is lovely @sibbys
Or Aurora nn Rory

Kevin. I knew a woman called Kevin.

s3tut0y3r · 29/03/2020 22:21

No. Because that is masculine not unisex. The feminine is Ria and Male Rio imo. Why not go for a name that sounds the same for boys and girls but has a different spelling? For example Robin

babynamelover · 15/04/2020 03:10

Marlowe :)

Emthebaker · 15/04/2020 03:58

Love Rio and Billie is a favourite if mine!

Also like Wren, River, Quinn & August.

Jossina · 15/04/2020 04:04

Any name should be able to be used by any sex.

Lynda07 · 15/04/2020 04:23

WaxonFeckOff, I knew a nun called Sister Kevin. Other than that, not know a female Kevin.

Leslie/Lesley - I had a visiting hedgehog that I called Les because I didn't know what sex it was.

Robin/Robyn, quite nice.

Frances/Francis.

I know a couple of girl Logan’s, one is very hard working and has a heart of gold and the other is a bit of a troublemaker but is also really sweet.
