I'm a Lara and do like my name. However, I agree with the PP that said about it sounding like Laura when said with certain accents. Infact we are moving somewhere I don't like how it's pronounced & I'm thinking of using my middle name when out and about and with new friends we make.

Zara by a billion miles. Isn’t it strange, though. How one letter can make all the difference eg I love Zara Sara Cara, but can’t abide Lara Tara Dara. I can take or leave Mara.

@Awwlookatmybabyspider With you on that one letter different thing. I have a Harry and the H is next to the G on a keyboard and sometimes i type Garry by mistake and absolutely shudder with horror! 😂

But it may depend on siblings names.
Lara is classic.
Zara is nice so not a bad second place.

Interesting that people say Lara will be pronounced Laura-where are you from? For me they are totally different so I must be in a different area...

Lara is Lah-rah
Laura is Lorr-ruh

My worry with Zara is we already have a 'royal' name and I wonder if it would seem odd Confused

I have a Lara. She is occasionally called Laura by people who don't have English as a first language. Everyone else seems to manage her name fine.
