A bit too out there?

Perfectly willing to accept that yes, maybe it is 🙈 Haven't has the nerve to bring it up to DH yet because I can predict his reaction...

I was driving along and the name October came to me, for a girl. I know a couple of people and celebs called January, and obviously there's April, May, June... My baby is due in October. I was thinking it's a bit like Ottilie and Octavia? Nicknames could be Ottie, Tobi?

Is this a really stupid name that my child would be embarrassed for life by? Would I be afraid to shout it in a supermarket? 🙈 Or does anyone else think it's the pretty and cool side of unusual?

I love it ..and i not normally one for out there names

How about Libra for her probable star sign?

Love Autumn.

Not keen on October.

I love Autumn so much but DH doesn't like it 😔 Thanks for the replies! DH actually said he thinks it's quite a cool name but probably wouldn't name a baby it himself, which I think is roughly where I'm at with it. I think if I met someone else whose child was called that I'd think wow (in a good way), but I potentially don't want to be the one saying it in the playground 🙈 Maybe I'll save it for a future pet name! I do think Tobi for a girl is great though - surprised that's not a more common one!

I quite like it.

But I had Augustus on my boy list (DH vetoed it)

I really like it and yes Tobi would give it a workable shortening

PrincessHoneysuckle · 01/03/2020 20:45

Autumn is much nicer

Octavia is fabulous. I don't like October and it sounds masculine to me (and makes me think of Tobermory the Womble!)

MonsteraDeliciosa · 02/03/2020 10:35

I don’t like it. It’s not that it’s “out there”, it’s just that it’s not a name, and doesn’t sound like one either.

Agree with others that Octavia or Autumn would be better.

I know an October. She's in her early twenties and goes by Toby. I like it!
