Sorry for the umpteenth thread on this. We keep seeming to settle on a name for DS 3 then a couple of weeks later both of us fall out of love with it.

Current shortlist is:

Kit Benjamin (Christian on BC) - I like it, but it's very short and wouldn't use full name at all really
Felix Benjamin love this but not sure it works with last name (think Fiona Ph - newsreader)
Barnaby Benjamin- love full version, not as keen on Barney
Gabriel Benjamin - can't decide whether I like or not.

Brothers are Seb (Sebastian) and Rowan. Not sure Felix works with last name but do love it (DH less keen).

Any thoughts or suggestions for anything we might not have thought of? (Discounted Jude, Ellis, Zachary, Max)

Thanks

Christian / Kit

CatteStreet · 06/02/2020 22:23

Gabriel goes best with your other sons' (lovely) names.

I too think Kit is faddy. It's very, very 'in' just now and will date quickly. And to be brutally honest, if I'd been called Kit and my brothers had your other boy's names, I'd feel pretty cheated and like I'd got the short straw.

CatteStreet · 06/02/2020 22:24

ffs. *boys'

Tomatogravy · 06/02/2020 22:27

Absolutely love the name Felix was on my short list of names.

Astronica · 06/02/2020 23:21

I love Kit and Felix, but would cross off Felix if any doubts with surame.
Christian nn Kit is great.

LexiM · 07/02/2020 07:36

My brother is Kit (he’s 27) - I would recommend if you’re going to use it just call him that not a longer name. He had Christopher on his birth certificate but we never used it and when he was 11 my mum agreed to change it legally to Kit because some of his friends at school started calling him it or Chris and he didn’t feel it was ever his name.
Personally I like the name Kit and feel bad when people say it’s very Rooney as many people had the name before they did!

AlpacaGoodnight · 07/02/2020 11:30

I know a 30 something year old Kit with no longer version-never did him any harm! Also love Felix and Gabriel

Whatsyourflava · 07/02/2020 13:34

Love this list of names so much

Kit Felix and Gabriel are gorgeous names

Confusednewmum1 · 07/02/2020 13:56

Not Felix with your surname!

Kit is my favourite boy name ever but I can’t use it with my surname for the same reason you shouldn’t use felix. I would prob always put longer name on BC though.

I also love love barnaby Benjamin it’s so sweet and matched your other boys really well. Nicknames could be B, Beau, ect.

Kids often find their own nicknames tbf, like child name surname mcvitie, got knocked down and was forever called crumb.

Boy called Thomas taller and badder than everyone else in class has forever been known as tank.

stophuggingme · 07/02/2020 14:16

@CatteStreet
The name Kit has been used for hundreds of years.

DejaVoodoo · 07/02/2020 15:08

All fantastic names, OP, you can't go wrong with one of those. I even think Felix Philips sounds cool!

I am sharing the Kit love though. Excellent name.

Kit or Gabriel, Barnaby's also nice but not if you dislike Barney as I'm sure it will get shortened. (I like Barney). Dislike Felix.

CatteStreet · 07/02/2020 17:45

'The name Kit has been used for hundreds of years.'

I don't doubt it has - I'm not saying it's actually a novel name - just that it's got very popular at the moment. Evelyn is a similar case. Very old name, then a couple of years ago they were everywhere. And it does date someone to have one of these names that suddenly surge in popularity.

diddlediddle · 07/02/2020 18:45

Kit Benjamin (Christian on BC) - definitely use Christian on bc if you choose this. I agree with you that it would be strange to have a Sebastian and then a child called Kit With no longer name. I like Kit but it does seem ever so popular at the moment, I think it will tie to this period of time rather.

Felix Benjamin - another name that is very popular at the moment, I know several Felixes. If it's alliterative with your surname then maybe not?

Barnaby Benjamin- my favourite by a long way. An unusual but well known name, doesn't need to be shortened to Barney.

Gabriel Benjamin - it's fine.

solitarythoughts · 07/02/2020 18:50

Beautiful choices.
I think Felix Ph.. flows gorgeously. Also a big fan of Gabriel and Barnaby.

LarkDescending · 07/02/2020 21:00

I don’t think Felix works with your surname.

How about Bruno?

BlueMoon1103 · 09/02/2020 18:21

I like Kit but Felix is my favourite!

Rachelhaydenberk1 · 09/02/2020 18:28

I like Kit as short for Christian or Christopher. It's very nice!

I like Felix - it's very cool sounding with the x on the end but I like how it's an old timey name! I'm into it! But if it doesnt flow with your last name that is something to consider.

I like Gabriel Benjamin too. Very handsome.

Lots of good choices! Just go with your heart!

Poppydaisies · 09/02/2020 20:38

Sebastian, Rowan and
Christian
Quentin
Barnaby

are all great names imo.

I really don't like Felix Phillips, it's a tongue twister imo.

Overthinker1988 · 10/02/2020 14:47

I like Christian but how do you actually pronounce it? Like the religion or Christ-yan? If it's the former then I'm less keen, if it's the latter I like it. Also Hristian (pronounced Hrist-tan) but that's the European version.
I also like Gabriel.
What about Theodore?
Felix makes me think of the cat food advert and Barnaby sounds too old fashioned (or hipsterish these days) to me.

youareacuntychops · 10/02/2020 14:51

Christian is nice and nn Kit works well.
I don't like your other options.
