Some girls names

I have some solid boy names that I love but nothing much for a girl even though I have a massive list.

Here's some I love:
Pippa
Anais (an-ay)
Rowena
Thora

Please feel free to give me some ideas! Not into common names (Sarah, Jessica, Louise etc).

Granted they may not be unusual but Sarah and Louise are far from common at the moment.
Pippa means Blow job in Italy if that bothers you.

Briony. Ember. Delia. Elisa. Ariadne. Jovie. Cashmere. Marla. Indie.
Claudia. Bronte. Cassie. Raina. Bunty. Judy.

Not keen on any, I think Thora is very 'old lady' (can only think of Thora Hird). You will have problems with the pronunciation of Anais (I would pronounce it An-eye-eese).

BilieEyelash · 24/01/2020 21:23

Anaïs is not pronounced An-ay. It's french. It's pronounced An-eye-ees. The correct pronunciation is lovely.

I like Thora & Anaïs. Not keen on the others.

aneliese · 24/01/2020 21:23

I prefer Rowan for a girl. I'd also pronounce Anaïs as An-aye-ees and I absolutely love that name.

emilybrontescorsett · 24/01/2020 21:25

Thora is terrible sorry.
I don't like Rowena and Pull a sounds too nicknamey to me. I it's a derivative of Philippa.
That leaves Anais which is nice but I agree about the mispronounciation.
For example i know someone with the same name who pronounces it as An-eese. The An-ay pronounciation reminds me of the perfume.

emilybrontescorsett · 24/01/2020 21:25

Auto correct ! Pippa not pull a.

erised · 24/01/2020 22:15

Also have Mavis (yes, I do like "old lady" names).

I like Mavis and suggest Ramona instead of Rowena, not a fan of the ‘wee’ sound personally.

Whatsyourflava · 26/01/2020 20:01

Rowena is awful. Others are ok

How about Roxanne /Roxanna?
Or .... Anya?

(Similar-ish to your choices)

Whatsyourflava · 26/01/2020 20:06

What’s your boy name out of interest @erised

Rachelhaydenberk1 · 26/01/2020 22:10

What about
Annaleise
Ramona
Thalia
Briar
Felicity

MarshaBradyo · 26/01/2020 22:12

Anaïs is my favourite but with the right pronunciation

Astronica · 27/01/2020 03:52

I love Pippa, Anais (but only pronounced the French way, Ah-neye-ees not as you are pronouncing), and Rowena. I'm delighted to see the beautiful and rarely used Rowena pop up. That would be my first choice. Thora doesn't appeal to me at all.

Morwenna
Philippa
Anthea
Annika
Primrose
Edith
Romilly
Artemis
