We’ve narrowed it down to 4, I have a favourite but my husband doesn’t but out of the 4 my favourite is his least favourite!!

Vivienne
Grace
Amélie
Poppy

Are the contenders! Any thoughts?

Grace or Amelie.

I think Poppy would be too cutesy for some adults, and Vivienne still seems very old for a baby to me.

Spied · 23/01/2020 09:24

Vivienne- do like it- but the thought of Viv would put me off. There's just 'something' that would stop me that I can't quite put my finger on.
Grace- love it!. A timeless, classic and beautiful name.
Amelie- I think it's very popular and as a result I think, what would of otherwise been a lovely name will now date badly.
Poppy- ok for a child or a pet. I'd never use it. I wouldn't want to be a 40yo Poppy.

AdaColeman · 23/01/2020 09:34

Vivienne is my favourite, Vivi would be a sweet childhood nickname.
Poppy is my least favourite.

Whatsyourflava · 23/01/2020 09:51

Love Grace Amelie or Poppy

Vivi is ok but realistically would most likely get reduced to Viv which sounds a bit like Bev etc

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 23/01/2020 10:43

I love them all except Amelie. Although I do recognise it’s a very pretty name, so I can definitely see the appeal. I think Grace is better as a middle name
Vivienne Grace
Poppy Grace.
Amelie Grace.

MikeUniformMike · 23/01/2020 10:50

Vivienne - Vivien is nicer and it will be Viv
Grace - Nice but harsh sounding. Overused as a middle name.
Amélie - Pretty but I dislike the Ammerly pronunciation.
Poppy - nice but cute.

Of them I prefer Poppy.

Teacup34 · 23/01/2020 10:59

Grace is lovely our dd3 has grace as a middle name but I wish I'd given it to her as a first name. Poppy is also nice.

Appledeapp · 23/01/2020 11:05

Vivienne

Peony99 · 23/01/2020 11:10

💯Vivienne

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 23/01/2020 14:23

Vivienne is by far my favourite. Grace is also nice.

I think Amelie is a bit faddy, and I really don’t like Poppy.

Mumbassa · 23/01/2020 14:23

I like Poppy

Beamur · 23/01/2020 14:27

All pretty. My least favourite of your list is Amelie.
Most favourite is Vivienne. Haven't come across a single child called this and only one adult who uses Vivi (which I think is pretty cool). It's an elegant, classy name.
Poppy and Grace are both nice but quite well used.

DramaAlpaca · 23/01/2020 14:29

Vivienne is by far the nicest, but I'd spell it Vivien as it's less fussy.

Amélie is nice in a French accent, otherwise not so much.

I don't like the 'gr' sound in Grace but it's an OK middle name, if a little boring.

I can't stand Poppy. Cutesy, twee and sounds like a noise, not a name.

Aethelthryth · 23/01/2020 14:30

Vivienne and Amelie are ok if you are French; but a bit affected if you are not. Vivien or Amelia would be better.

Grace is nice, if a little over-used.
I like Poppy but I can imagine it lacking gravitas on an adult

TatianaLarina · 23/01/2020 14:34

Poppy.

Amélie is over-used and never pronounced properly in English. It’s not Amilly.
Grace is also over-used and it’s one of those names that can mock the owner like Belle and Beau.
Vivienne is ghastly. Bordering on joke name like Veronica.

MsTSwift · 23/01/2020 14:37

Vivienne

Amelie and Grace too overused and will date badly

Poppy is a ridiculous name for an adult woman

MsTSwift · 23/01/2020 14:39

Yes we know two rather large Graces and their name seems cruel somehow

Mamabear88 · 23/01/2020 15:02

Poppy is cute on a baby / little girl, not so great on an adult woman. The other 3 are all nice. I like Amelie best. What about Grace as the middle name?

kittykat7210 · 23/01/2020 15:38

Thanks for everyone’s responses, my favourite is Vivienne, I think I’m starting to bring my husband round on it! I prefer the longer spelling so it would be Vivienne rather than any other spelling! It’s tradition for us to have a flower as a middle name, does anyone have any flower pairings with Vivienne?

Deserves something dramatic...
Iris
Erica/Heather
Lilia/Lily
Heliotrope (bit out there)
Fleur
Jasmine
Marguerite
Daisy
Hazel
Willow
Violet
Holly
Blossom
Saffron
Rosemary

AdaColeman · 23/01/2020 16:16

Vivienne Marguerite is lovely, also Vivienne Fleur.

Rachel345 · 23/01/2020 16:58

Amélie with the emphasis on é is beautiful!

Whatsyourflava · 23/01/2020 17:17

Viv Poppy
Viv Rose

Lobsterquadrille2 · 23/01/2020 17:27

I was going to say that I only like Grace, but Vivienne Poppy or Daisy sound nice (depending on surname).

17caterpillars1mouse · 23/01/2020 20:50

I love Vivienne and like Grace
