I came accross this girls name I had never heard of recently and wonder if people like it. I suppose Renee for short would work well.

Twilight. Awful!

codenameduchess · 09/01/2020 09:31

I've been subjected to the twilight movies and honestly when they said the baby's name I died a little inside. It's so awful... even for a fictional vampire baby.

Pretty much everyone will assume you're a super fan (and probably judge you, the franchise is pretty widely mocked).

Esme is quite popular too as first and middle names. Totally your choice op, but no child will thank you for naming them renesmee (and I'm not against unusual names).

Awful

DesLynamsMoustache · 09/01/2020 09:36

It was the most cringe-worthy part of the books for me, and that is saying something.

SoupDragon · 09/01/2020 09:38

It was a shit name in the books, it would be a shit name in real life.

Defenestratethecat · 09/01/2020 09:38

Oh Lord. Granddaughter of a friend wanted to call her DD Renesmee (big fan of the Twilight films). Luckily for the poor baby her DP vetoed the choice so they went with Ezmee instead Hmm Grin.

MrsNai · 09/01/2020 09:39

Should I take two Renesmee or does just one settle indigestion?

Sexnotgender · 09/01/2020 09:40

Terrible.

december20100 · 09/01/2020 09:40

Don't be that cruel.

ODFOx · 09/01/2020 09:45

Even in the books the name was mocked. The mother was ill for a while and when she came to they'd nicknamed the baby Nessie I think.
Don't do it OP.

Mamabear88 · 09/01/2020 09:56

It also makes me think of twilight. It's not good.

BreastedBoobilyToTheStairs · 09/01/2020 10:13

The mother was ill for a while and when she came to they'd nicknamed the baby Nessie I think.

'You named my daughter after the LOCH NESS MONSTER?!' Grin

Laserbird16 · 09/01/2020 11:57

Go right ahead...if you want your child to hate you and change it to something less heinous as soon as possible. Why not call her Khaleesi Renesmee Resume Consume!

user1493494961 · 09/01/2020 12:07

It's awful.

LittleLongDog · 09/01/2020 12:17

Even everyone in Twilight hated the name; and they invented it.

It’s literally awful. Just... don’t.

Beamur · 09/01/2020 12:19

Sorry, but just no. Awful.

LittleLongDog · 09/01/2020 12:20

I actually had to do an advanced search on you OP (because it’s such an purposefully terrible name that I thought you were trolling).

Does anyone remember what that hilariously awful name in the the classics thread (by a troll) was?

PanamaPattie · 09/01/2020 12:23

Ezmee is such a far more classier name. 🤔

AlexanderHalexander · 09/01/2020 12:26

@littlelongdog - Harper-blu? Grin

Peanutbutteryogurt · 09/01/2020 12:28

It's really bad. Just Esme is lovely though.

BarkandCheese · 09/01/2020 12:29

Was it Balonz? That wasn’t so much a troll as a well known wind up merchant. The op claimed to have a friend named Balonz, someone asked if it was from a specific place, the reply was something like “I don’t know where he’s from, but he speaks very fondness of Frensham Ponds”.

Renesmee, just don’t. Even without the Twilight connection it’s an awful how do you spell and pronounce that name. With the Twilight connection it’s pure cringe.

user1471582494 · 09/01/2020 12:31

No! No! No! Just no. Don't do that to your poor child.

TheJoxter · 09/01/2020 12:33

Renée Esme
Or even Renée-Esme if you like combined names
But please not Renesmee

toodivineforthehumanmind · 09/01/2020 12:42

I would prefer it spelt Renesme, it's unique fed up of hearing Emily's, Ava's etc

Omashu · 09/01/2020 12:45

I love unusual names but this is so so awful.
