Hi,
I’m having a baby girl and am torn between Amelie Florence or Amelie Willow. Which do you prefer please? Many thanks

I love Amelie Florence! I've always thought both were really pretty names.

BikeRunSki · 06/01/2020 21:02

Amelie Willow

Willow

Cucumbersalad · 06/01/2020 21:05

I would say Florence is more classic, but then how often do you hear people's middle names? They're both beautiful names

mondler · 06/01/2020 21:39

Both work well, lovely names. What letter does your surname start with?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 06/01/2020 21:51

I prefer Willow but I’d say go with Florence.
Amelie Florence just glides off the tongue.

Flymetothestars · 06/01/2020 23:19

Omg love both so much!

Amelie Florence or Amelie Willow are both really lovely

Is there one that has slightly more meaning to you? If so just pick that one I’d say

Jossina · 06/01/2020 23:40

Amelie Florence Willow. Why not use both?

Whatsyourflava · 06/01/2020 23:54

So pretty a lovely choice of names
Think I prefer Florence but love both options

MopsRUs · 07/01/2020 00:15

Amelie Florence. I like Willow too, but don't think it flows so well with Amelie.

ParsleyPot · 07/01/2020 00:23

Florence

Both lovely but my favourite is Amelie Florence.

Amelia Florence. Amélie is not pronounced correctly in the U.K and the British version isn’t nice.

Amelie Florence but love both options

Amelie Florence is lovely.

Amelie Florence

I strongly dislike Amelie, so I’d turn the names around. Florence gives it a bit of class.

MyCatScaresDogs · 07/01/2020 19:31

Amelie Florence - beautiful/

Spied · 07/01/2020 19:33

Florence.
I prefer it to Amelie so personally I'd go Florence Amelie.
I don't like Willow.

MikeUniformMike · 07/01/2020 19:50

Not a fan of Amelie, Prefer Emily.
Amelie Florence is better than Amelie Willow.

roiseandjim · 07/01/2020 19:59

OP wasn't asking for comments on the first name. Amelie Florence for me 🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️

Chattercino · 07/01/2020 20:06

Florence

I commented on Amelie as I think the name is tailing off in popularity so will date.
The name popularity is from a film, released IIRC in 2001.
I've been caught out with Amelia and Emilia sounding similar and probably would with Amelie and Emily.

When we named DC, we chose names we love, and I still do, but I had no idea that the names would be so popular. DC were always Firstname Surname or Firstname S.
Not a problem and had a not too common surname. The names haven't dated too badly, but if you use a name that has peaked, it will make DC seem older than they are, and unfortunately people are prejudiced when it comes to names.
