Hi all,
DH and I struggle to agree on boy names (we both love and agree on Mabel for a girl), boy wise the only name we can agree on is Kit (neither of us like Christopher though).. does Kit sound weird with the other two having full names (Beatrix goes by Bea most of the time which matches better with Kit I think). Kit was my DH’s grandfathers name I should add. I’d welcome any other suggestions. Other names I love but DH doesn’t include Wilfred, Rafferty, Casper, Rufus
Name DH likes is Herbert, I like Bertie but wouldn’t want to give Herbert as a full name. We also quite like Reggie (family name) but not Reginald.

Kit is a great name on its own and I love the family connection!

Love loads of your name choices though and think they all work with other children’s names.

Wishiknewtheanswer · 02/01/2020 09:51

Thanks so much Fluffy! I do love the family connection with Kit too Smile

I think Kit works. I agree about Herbert. Itwly one to avoid. Bert ir Bertie are ok though. Congratulations

I also probably wouldn’t want to give Herbert as a full name. I did suggest that name to a poster on here a while ago and everyone laughed !

Poorolddaddypig · 02/01/2020 11:49

Kit is great!

Astronica · 02/01/2020 12:15

I love Kit and like it as a short form of Atticus as well as Christopher.

Also like Bertie - would you consider Bertram, Albert, Hubert, Gilbert with nn Bertie?

Jasper, Magnus, Raphael, Felix, Edmund.

diddlediddle · 02/01/2020 12:35

I know a Kit on its own. I prefer it as a nn but it's doable. It's a nice name and works ok with your other children

Ricekrispie22 · 02/01/2020 13:20

How about Arthur nm Artie or Art?
Also Edmund nm Ted/Teddy/Ned

Cbeebiesrehab · 02/01/2020 13:29

Kit goes perfectly with Otis and Beatrix! The right amount of quirky. Lovely choices.

Soawesome · 02/01/2020 17:54

Kit is great.
I do love Atticus too!

Wishiknewtheanswer · 02/01/2020 20:54

Thanks for the great suggestions.
I love the name Atticus but sadly DH vetoed this one before.
Edmund was my g grandfathers name Rice and Astronica! Its one I’ve considered but wondered whether it was too formal next to Otis so that’s really interesting you both mentioned it, I love Teddy/Ned as nn.
Your suggestions are right up my street Astronica but sadly most of them were vetoed by DH last time.. he is very picky !
Thanks for the feedback on Kit as a full name, I’m pleased to see it got some thumbs up Smile

Kitto is a Cornish form of Christopher and can be shortened to Kit :-)

Wishiknewtheanswer · 04/01/2020 22:41

Thanks WineorGin!

I’ve never heard the name Kitto before GryffinDora, thanks for the suggestion!
