Boy name for tomorrow

I’m having a planned c section tomorrow and we don’t know what we’re having. We’ve got a girls name but are totally stuck for boys. Our ds is William known as Bill. Any ideas please?! We don’t want to be too on-trend or wild but we’ve discounted so many standard we’re a bit stuck!

William and Harry, though😂.

Says the person who suggested Benjamin.
Bill and Ben. Grin😂

You missed Bill and Ted Grin

Hillary could be a boy or a girl.

What about something like Michael or Steven?

Ah yes bill and Ben not so good

William and Benjamin could be ok but see what you’re saying!! @Awwlookatmybabyspider

🤣

Michael is an excellent choice, although not my name. Mikey is cute.
Davey short for David is nice.

Please don't spell Jonathan as Johnathan. I like Jonathan and John.

Matt short for Matthew is nice.
Samson is cute as is Samuel.

HalfBloodPrincess · 30/12/2019 17:51

I apologise! Seems cliche to blame autocorrect but that's how Samsung spell it!

Haha thanks for the light relief! Yes we’ve realised the Bill&Ben etc problems! Not a fan of Harry for some reason I can’t explain so we’re ok for that!
Laurie is nice but wonder if it’s a bit wet? Same with Gilbert...?
I’ve given up on Kit because I don’t like Chris and you can’t control what nickname they’ll choose later on.
John is a strong choice, dh likes it but it doesn’t feel like The one to me. We know lots of grown up Michael, Steven, Matthew and Thomas’s so it just wouldn’t feel right.
It’s just so easy to discount every name isn’t it!
Maybe it’ll just be a girl and we won’t have to talk about it for three weeks Grin

If you like Kit but not Chris, how about using Kester as the long version? It's the Scottish form of Christopher and I think it's lovely and underused.

Whatsyourflava · 05/01/2020 09:40

@Bewilderedfourthtimer if you like Kit but not Chris then it’s really unlikely to be a problem. At schools now they ask parents what the child’s formal name is and what they will be “known as”, that “known as” name is then used everywhere, even on the register. The official name won’t even get mentioned. There’s a “Gray” at my sons school. His mum told me recently his birth name is “Grayson” but everywhere at school (eg coat peg, register) it’s just “Gray”.

Have you made a decision @Bewilderedfourthtimer
