Please help me decide on a name! I think I have gotten to the point where I have looked at so many baby names I am beginning to overthink them all!

Please help me decide!

Lumi - meaning snow in Finnish, I do love this name and baby is due in dec so the meaning fits well but research suggests it also means prostitute in Spanish :/ also the name of a nappy brand - Pampers.Would they get called loony argh!

Rumi - japanese meaning beauty, flow, lapis lazuli.

I love this name and I actually think it sounds nicer than Lumi, but people just say it as in roomy. I hear it differently I guess, short, fresh, cute.

Remi - also nice but a little too common for me.

Enya - meaning little fire - many people associate with the singer.

Romy - not mad on the meaning.

Aiya?

Kiana?

Or suggestions with names similar to the above?

Thanks

Your list looks like you've just thrown a few Scrabble tiles around and seen where they've landed.

Out of all your choices i like enya the most. It's such a lovely name. Would use it myself for future DD if it wasn't pretty much an anagram of my daughter's name.
All your names are really nice though. Rumi and remi are great names as well.
Like pp have said, try not to over think the meaning and connotations of names as you will never choose anything because you will always find something else to talk you out of it

I like Lumi. Not keen on the others.
If popularity bothers you (you said Remi was too popular?) then definitely don't go with Kiana.

Cosmoa · 19/12/2019 09:17

I like Lumi, I recently named my daughters snowgirl teddy Lumi 🤣

Rumi sounds like the word roomy as in “ooh it’s nice and roomy in here”... don’t know if that’s a colloquial term though?

I love the singer Enya, she’s an angel who gets my daughter to sleep in the car every time 😁 so it’s not a bad connotation.

And I think Kiana is my favourite of your options.

Romy is okay but I prefer Romilly

@lSABELLATORRIONE

For me you need to call your baby like she has can because she be bad and you can't give him because she she be no and she don't want no me yes and for you not be bad ok?

Thank you for breaking my brain.

rubyismyworld · 19/12/2019 09:22

If so the majority of people probably won't have that association
I have to completely disagree. I’m in my early 20s and made the Enya association right away. I wasn’t even alive when she was doing well in the charts!
Having said that, I think it’s a good association and the best name on your list

RickOShay · 19/12/2019 09:26

I like the suggestion of Kali.
Indian goddess, can’t go wrong!

Sparklingwater12 · 19/12/2019 09:56

And mine

I guess my names are just not the usual Olivia, Isabella type ones so there will always be opinions!

I think I will just wait until I see her and then decide, hoping it will just click!

Enya does have a strong sound and meaning to it which I like - the singer charted tonks ago , my family are irish the only reason I know. Many people wouldn't though.

Kali is nice but sounds a little American not to sure why.

Love Lumi and Enya! I think the singer link would be quickly forgotten.

Umberta · 22/12/2019 12:15

Remi is a boy's name usually

Lumi definitely isn't a Spanish word. I'm a Spanish speaker.
How about Romina?
