Hi, I am not new to MN but have set up new account
I think my hormones are getting the better of me.

I have 3 other children 7,6 and 5. Traditional names but not twee or vintage . Think Grace etc
Have just found out I’m pg with very unexpected Baby number 4 (5y gap. Eeeek)
It feels like my first pregnancy all over again. It’s very early days but all I can think of is this baby. It’s consuming me !! I’m set on it being a girl even though it probably barely has genitalia yet :-)

Anyway, my mother is called Tina which I am not keen on but would like to nod to her in the name if it’s a girl so was thinking Tiana thoughts on that name please?
I am also seriously considering the name Navy for a girl as it’s small, cute and different. Am I nuts??
Also am slightly falling in love with Noa/ Noah for a girl which I also feel slightly bonkers for liking.
The only other names I really like are
Edie
Yvette
Tyra (banks will be old hat in 10/15y, no?)
Fiona
Tess

I can’t call a baby Navy can I??
Or Noa??
Speak some sense to a ravenous, over emotional 4th timer please

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Pixilicious · 10/12/2019 21:35

Edie is lovely. The rest, not so much.

PurpleDaisies · 10/12/2019 21:35

It’s absolutely awful. Do not call your child Navy.

girlsname · 10/12/2019 21:36

It does sound a little hormone induced but for some reason I like the name Navy 🤷‍♀️.
I have an Edie too so obviously am biased but we've had nothing but lovely comments about her name and I really love it

RickOShay · 10/12/2019 21:37
Grin Yes. You have fallen over the edge.
PlantPotting · 10/12/2019 21:37

I love Noa for a girl

I actually know a little girl call Noah spelt the traditionally male way

boatybook · 10/12/2019 21:37

Navy and Noa/Noah are awful for a girl (or any child in the case of navy)

The rest are not to my taste, but fine.

Collision · 10/12/2019 21:41

Navy is shocking and horrible.

ncqtime · 10/12/2019 21:42

Aw I really like noa but don't associate it with Noah. What about nova if you like the v sound in navy?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/12/2019 21:46

Why can’t you have Navy. There are plenty of Rubys (Red) Jades (Green) roaming about. If you kids aren’t called Olivia or Oliver you’re being too try hard.

user1493494961 · 10/12/2019 21:47

Your other children have traditional names, please don't short-change your child by naming them something way-out, especially Navy, they will be the odd one out. Edie and Tess are nice.

Blutterflies · 10/12/2019 21:48

Thanks RickOShay I have haven’t I? Grin

I need to stop scrolling through Instagram at work.

I would be the kind of person to give the internal judgy, eye-roll to someone carrying on like this pre-preg!!!

How about:

Tierney - Irish

Or

Tia - Spanish

Or

Tirana - muslim

All lovely!

TildaTurnip · 10/12/2019 21:50

The song, ‘In the Navy’ should put you off.

I like Edie and Fiona

wowfudge · 10/12/2019 21:50

I've heard of a Navy. But I wouldn't do that to a child.

RaymondReddingtonMrs · 10/12/2019 21:51

What about Nola?

Queenoftheashes · 10/12/2019 21:51

I kind of like Noah for a girl

percheron67 · 10/12/2019 21:52

Army and Royal Air Force a

Navy? I hope that was a typo or Army and Royal Air Force could be on the agenda. Poor child.

ilovetinsel · 10/12/2019 21:53

You know I kind of like Navy OP
And Indigo 🤷🏽‍♀️

winniesanderson · 10/12/2019 21:55

I have a distant relative called Nola which I've always thought is a fab name.

AntiHop · 10/12/2019 21:56

Navy is awful. Tiana sounds like a alcoholic drink. I'm not keen on Noa. Others are nice.

What about Christine after your mum, but call her Chrissy?

Blutterflies · 10/12/2019 21:56

I couldn’t have Nova, reminds me of the Vauxhall Smile

Wheresthebiffer2 · 10/12/2019 22:01

Edie, Fiona, Tess

Blutterflies · 10/12/2019 22:03

I think it’s because I do like the v sound Maeve and Niamh have the same sound and I like those but wouldn’t use.

Anything with Chris at the front is a no from me (twat family member)
Anita is same letters but sounds like a sensible adults name.
I don’t know who I am anymore Confused

sproutsandparsnips · 10/12/2019 22:03

What about Niamh?

Thetimetravelerswife · 10/12/2019 22:03

You’ve gone a tad mad.

If you want, pick a nice normal name with a wild middle name like Navy.
She’ll be jealous of her siblings for having normal names otherwise.
