An Irish girls name to match Fíadh

user1480531309 · 08/12/2019 17:12

I’ve a little one named Fíadh and I had her name chosen so early on in my pregnancy. Now I’m ready to have her little sister and can’t decide on the perfect match. Any ideas? Must be Irish! Thanks!

A few cute, if somewhat trendy ones, that I really like:
Méabh
Niamh
Clìona
Slaíne
Saoirse
Orla
Brighid
Good luck on the name search!

Aoefe ('eefa')

SundayMorningSun · 08/12/2019 20:31

Ailis

I wouldn't go for another name with a long ee sound alongside Fiadh (e.g. Aoife).

Caoimhe.

And for those saying she’ll never be able to buy anything with her name on in England, come to Leeds. I found a bauble with it on in the White Rose centre earlier Grin

Daisydoola · 08/12/2019 21:40

I love caoimhe too

Tolleshunt · 08/12/2019 21:47

I think Aine is beautiful.

DramaAlpaca · 09/12/2019 00:41

Sadhbh is my favourite Irish girls' name, so I'm suggesting that.

This recent thread might give you some other ideas

Sakura7 · 09/12/2019 00:44

Ailbhe
Aoife
Clodagh
Roisín
Síofra

user1480531309 · 09/12/2019 20:47

As much as I love Aoife and Caoimhe I think you’re right! Too similar!

I'm going to be really ignorant here, but how do you pronounce your daughters name?

ShortHairSuitsYou · 09/12/2019 20:53

I love Suin and Realtín.

FairytaleofBykerGrove · 09/12/2019 20:55

Beibhinn
Laoise
Blathanna

Anoisagusaris · 09/12/2019 20:55

Oh yes Realtin is one of my favourites.

(And yes I know I’m missing fadas all over the place, just can’t do them on the phone.)

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 09/12/2019 20:56

Siun

Anoisagusaris · 09/12/2019 20:57

I’ve never heard of Blathanna (flowers) as a name....Blaithin and Blathnaid yes.

TerribleCustomerCervix · 09/12/2019 20:59

I have a Sadhbh- still love it and it really suits her.

It’s easy for non-Irish people when you explain “Sadhbh, like 5 but with an S!”

pastelyellow · 09/12/2019 21:09

Eimear

switcharoo · 09/12/2019 23:06

Ailbhe I love this name but we're both English so looks odd if I ever used it
