Names for Eliza’s brother and sister

I’ve found out today that we are having boy/ girl twins.

Dd1 is called Eliza. I am really struggling to think of names I love as much but want to think of some names to help me enjoy this pregnancy. To explain briefly why, Eliza died at the start of the year and I don’t get to say her name very often anymore.

For girls, I love the names Annie and Matilda. For boys, I have no idea!

Any suggestions please? Hopefully Eliza will give some ideas of the sorts of names I like.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Eliza is a beautiful name. I have a Luisa who was very nearly an Eliza. are you wanting completely seperate names or to honour Eliza in their names? Separately, I love Luisa and Rosa (my husband is Spanish and Luisa was a name that works in both countries). My boy is Benedict but I also love Marcus.

If you wanted to honour Eliza in their names or middle names how about Elizabeth and Elijah?

Ps. Annie and Matilda are gorgeous names sorry I have only just read that part of your message. They often get very good reviews on mumsnet. If you’ve found names you love stick with one of those two names as they are both lovely. Perhaps as a middle name you could use Elizabeth or Lizzie as a middle name to honour Eliza (unless of course you want to actually reuse Eliza)

Leopardprintboots · 05/12/2019 15:58

Eric another suggestion for boy name

Eliza is a beautiful name.

Eliza is a beautiful name and I'm so sorry to read that your Eliza died earlier this year.

Matilda and Annie are also fabulous names, I think Annie goes particularly well with Eliza as they both start with a vowel but have different ending sounds. Other names I think go well with Eliza include Nancy, Miriam, Mary, Mabel, Martha, Flora, Florence, Constance (Connie), Hannah, Sally, Susan, Maggie, Betty, Bethany, Madeleine, Agnes, Margot, Lucy, Felicity, Imogen, Harriet, Alice and Phoebe.

For boys; Thomas, Benjamin, Edward, William, Jonah, Toby, Daniel, James, Seth, Reuben, Isaac, Charlie, Henry, Harry, George, Gabriel, Frederick, Jude and Jesse.

WellTidy · 05/12/2019 17:50

For boys - Dominic, Sebastian, Theo, Jonny, Toby, Gabriel

For girls - Louisa

Annie is great, I know a really sweet 3 year old Annie! That would be my first choice. Matilda is lovely too & Eliza is so pretty. Boys names I like are Oscar, Henry, Max, Ralph & Joseph.

NoSauce · 05/12/2019 22:01

Florence Eliza and Oscar? Do you have middle names for a boy?

NationMcKinley · 05/12/2019 22:06

Isaac for your son. It means he laughs. I am so sorry for your sad loss. I love the name Eliza, it’s beautiful and I’m sure she was too.

Sadly I have several friends who have lost babies and children. We say their names often.

Congratulations on your twins! How exciting! Flowers

Tiberius12 · 05/12/2019 22:19

I'm so sorry to hear about Eliza.

I have an Eliza too, and her sister is Matilda. I think the names go lovely together. I think Oscar or Isaac for a boy would fit in nicely

Robs20 · 06/12/2019 15:03

@NoSauce we don’t have a middle name for a boy. DH’s middle name is Charles and that is a family name so we could use that...
