What do you think of the name Eighmy?
Pronounced Amy.

Amy is a really lovely name. I’ve no idea if Eighmy is a recognised alternative spelling of Amy or if you’ve made it up to be unusual but I think she’ll be spelling it out to literally everyone for her entire life.

user0963786 · 30/11/2019 15:48

Eighmy is awful, amy, Aimee perfectly fine

insanepizza · 30/11/2019 15:51

Why on earth wouldn't you spell it Amy (assuming you live in the UK)?

MrsBertBibby · 30/11/2019 15:51

Bloody stupid.

Teachermaths · 30/11/2019 15:51

Eighmy is absolutely awful.

HowToBeAWoman · 30/11/2019 15:51

It’s given me a good giggle Grin.

Amy is a nice name, OP.

SweetAsSpice · 30/11/2019 15:52

No. Amy or Aimee. Ffs!

Lyricallie · 30/11/2019 15:53

I kept reading it is as eighTme I think because I expected the word eight there.

Hopefully this is not a one on your list.

GiveHerHellFromUs · 30/11/2019 15:54

Why? It's ridiculous.

lunababoona · 30/11/2019 15:57

A friend of mine spells is Eimy, which is a bit nicer I feel.

ErrolTheDragon · 30/11/2019 15:58

I'd be very sorry for any child who had that inflicted on them. Wtf would anyone choose an unusual spelling with twice as many letters as the standard version, especially when it doesn't even look nice?Confused

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/11/2019 16:00

Utterly ridiculous.

ErrolTheDragon · 30/11/2019 16:01

The spelling also divorces it from the meaning of the word 'beloved' (cf words like amity, amicable, amiable).

littlemeitslyn · 30/11/2019 16:27

No

june2007 · 30/11/2019 16:35

Why would you.?

CandyApple1995 · 30/11/2019 16:40

Can I just point out I'm not considering using this name, I heard of it for the first time yesterday and was curious as to what others thought of it!

DullPortraits · 30/11/2019 16:42

Innertwist · 30/11/2019 16:43

I'd think it was pronounced Eh-my.

Chocmallows · 30/11/2019 16:44

Really?

Tonz · 30/11/2019 16:44

No. Just no

Letthemysterybe · 30/11/2019 16:45

I prefer Eighmee

bridgetreilly · 30/11/2019 16:57

It's dreadful. The epitome of yoo-nique naming. Poor kid.

Omashu · 30/11/2019 19:49

Bleh it actually makes me feel sick Sad

CandyApple1995 · 30/11/2019 20:09
