This is the only name my husband and I can totally agree on so is consistently top of our list for DD2.
Would be this spelling.
Just general thoughts please?

However if the OP feels that the name is beautiful and likes it, she should pick it regardless of my own personal taste.

😂 As if that needed saying.

Lovely

platform9andthreequarters · 26/11/2019 17:53

I love it. It is/was our name for DC2 if they were a girl, however we've recently discovered they're a boy.

If you wanted any other suggestions, I also rather liked Phillippa for similar reasons, classic but underused, nice nickname (Pippa/pip) and I've never met one I didn't like.

BelfastNonBlonde · 26/11/2019 17:56

Lovely. I’m considering it.
I love Ray/Rae also.

Great with Louise also

QuestionableMushroom · 26/11/2019 18:34

I love it. I have a dear friend called Rachel so it only has lovely connotations of a wonderful woman.

Practicalmagico · 26/11/2019 18:40

Dated. The youngest I know is 27

daisypond · 26/11/2019 18:43

It’s very nice.

haverhill · 26/11/2019 18:48

Know two, both fabulous women.

Alsonification · 26/11/2019 18:49

My Dd (21) is Rachel. I love the name (and coincidentally her second name is Louise lol). I heard the name when I was a kid & wanted it ever since.
My dd on the other hand wishes she had a more unique name. In school there were so many Rachels plus now in college theres a lot too. We are in ireland so it’s obviously more popular here Grin

LennyLady · 26/11/2019 19:43

My 17yr DD is also Rachael Louise! She loves her name and always has comments of how there are not many Rachael's out there and how the name suits her

BennyTheBall · 26/11/2019 19:46

There were 6 Rachels in my year at school. But that was the 1980s so it has had it's overused phase and is probably due a revival.

Toddlerteaplease · 26/11/2019 19:58

Love it.

MrsNoMopp · 26/11/2019 20:01

It's a lovely name and due a comeback.

Leopardprintboots · 26/11/2019 20:02

@Alsonification you’ll have to tell your daughter she has a super rare name in 2019- it’s outside the top 300 names now!

Spied · 26/11/2019 20:07

Lovely. Use it.
I know two. One lovely. One not so muchGrin. Both adults.
Its a beautiful name.

Spied · 26/11/2019 20:08

Agree it should be Rachel not Rachael.

JemSynergy · 26/11/2019 20:09

I think if it is a name both you and your husband like and both agree on then that is the name to go for. :)

MrsSiriusBlack1 · 26/11/2019 20:11

For once a name on these threads that I like! Grinits lovely

Alsonification · 26/11/2019 20:13

@Leopardprintboots

Thanks I will Smile

BeanBag7 · 26/11/2019 20:15

I think its lovely and would be pleasantly surprised to meet a young Rachel.

LadyRivers1 · 26/11/2019 20:33

My DD2 aged 10 is Rachel Smile

GoingBackTo505 · 26/11/2019 20:35

I'm the odd one out here. I really don't like it. I've never met a nice or kind Rachel.

DariaMorgendorffer · 26/11/2019 20:40

Love it.

PlasticPatty · 26/11/2019 20:41

Please spell it 'Rachael'.
I know one beautiful, charming, intelligent and delightful Rachael.

PlasticPatty · 26/11/2019 20:41

She was Baby Rae for a while.
