Hello beautiful people!

My partner and I are expecting our first child, a girl, December 26th. We are both very fond of the names I have listed below however we aren’t sure either of them is ‘the one’. We would love to hear your opinions/suggestions. She will take my partners surname which starts with C and is easy to match with names.

Thanks in advance xx

Names:
Aneska
Davina
Emeraude
Geneva
Jemima
Persephone
Tallulah

@MrsBertBibby I disagree with you on Tallulah being a stripper name but I appreciate your opinion and suggestions.

@Otherwisebaldandunconvincing Thank you for your thoughts! I’m not to fond on Anoushka but thanks for the suggestion.

@MrsFionaCharming I’ve never watched Jane the Virgin so I was unaware the name had that connotation. I’m neutral on Petra but my partner really likes it!

LOVE Jemima and Tallulah! And agree that Tallulah isn’t a stripper name. It’s lovely.

VenusClapTrap · 24/11/2019 17:32

I love Emeraude. Very classy. Ignore the naysayers.

dreichwinter · 24/11/2019 17:35

I think Persephone is a lovely name.
I don't like Tallulah very much.

RedRec · 24/11/2019 17:46

A mumsnet girls name list is not complete without an Ottilie, true to form. Hoped this might disappear after mummy-blogger-gate, as she, inevitably, has one.

aibutohavethisusername · 24/11/2019 23:04

Geneva

FartnissEverbeans · 25/11/2019 16:05

Persephone x1000000000

Love that name

Flymetothestars · 25/11/2019 16:20

Ottilie is a great name

On that note @RedRec another suggestion for you @AdelineP how about Clementine (Clemmie)

I love Jemima or Imogen

MrsNoMopp · 25/11/2019 17:33

Persephone or Jemima.

Seraphina
Marianne
Elspeth
Jasmine
Cordelia

I like Davina.
Geneva is nice but I prefer Ginevra or Genevieve. (and Virginia, but that might be cruel, Idk.)

Emeraude is nice. if pronounced by someone who actually speaks French...

raspberrymolakoff · 25/11/2019 19:36

Emeraude was a ferry which used to serve Jersey to St Malo so anyone who ever did that route will think this. If you want a variation on Emerald how about Esmerelda?

I've never heard of Geneva as a first name but Florence Nightingale's parents started something when they called her a Florence so, why not?

Love Tallulah. Also Jemima but I know several little ones so think it may be peaking. Gemmas always seem to be called Gem as they get older so I worry they'd get Jem too unless you encourage Mimi (lovely).

Be bold!

marmiteandmarmalade · 25/11/2019 19:50

Jemima or Tallulah!

Leopardprintboots · 25/11/2019 20:14

@raspberrymolakoff Jemima isn’t peaking - it’s been on a downward trajectory since 2011! It’s easy to check the stats and the change in a names popularity on the dark green website which relies on official office of national statistics data. Really easy to check 😃. Jemima is massively underused - about to leave the top 300 names.

None of the Gemmas I know are called Gem if that’s relevant at all to you OP

SexlessBoulderBelly · 25/11/2019 20:17

Emeraude remind me of Emerade the epi pen manufacturers.

Astronica · 25/11/2019 23:38

Jemima is my favourite, and I also like Persephone, Emeraude and Aneska.

MollyHuaCha · 26/11/2019 00:13

Jemima
