Thoughts on this name please Smile thanks

Oh... Rupert is nice. Patrick as well. But my most prominent Patrick association is a man (named Patrick) who happens to be a coked up (or nowadays more likely to be some sort of designer drug) arse...

so, probably not the name for us. 😅

daisypond · 22/11/2019 16:48

I like it. Barnabas?

RuthW · 22/11/2019 17:41

Like it but can't get past the bear

dontlickthelamp · 22/11/2019 17:42

I prefer Barney

spacepyramid · 22/11/2019 17:44

Barnaby Bear!

concernedforthefuture · 22/11/2019 17:48

I'm afraid I know too many dogs with this name for it to work for me, but it's a lovely name and if you don't have the same connotations then go for it

commanderdalgliesh · 22/11/2019 18:15

I really like it. But as a word of warning my neighbour thought there would be no others and there's three in his year at school. I say that as a parent of an Alexander though.

Leopardprintboots · 22/11/2019 18:26

@commanderdalgliesh 3 in a school is possible but highly unlikely if you look at the official ONS stats.
Barnaby is outside the top 250 names and is on a downward trajectory. Has been outside the top 250 for the past 20 years.
0.03 % of babies are called Barnaby

It’s funny when you get these clusters of unusual names- there’s two “Fox”s at our nursery but it’s still a very rare name (Fox is on an upward trajectory mind you, unlike Barnaby)

RuthW · 22/11/2019 19:20

No this is Barnaby the Bear.

Love it. I know a 12 year old Barnaby, mostly goes by Barnaby, occasionally Barnes. Very lovely and motivated young man

indigo13 · 22/11/2019 19:57

It's a brilliant name. Please don't use it and make it all popular 😀

Leopardprintboots · 22/11/2019 20:12

I don’t think any of the current generation will have any idea about this Barnaby bear. I even don’t and I’m in my 30s 🙋‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Thefaceofboe · 22/11/2019 20:14

Lovely name!! Grin

LetItGoHome · 22/11/2019 22:36

Love it
I'd call him Bee for short 😍

VenusClapTrap · 24/11/2019 17:22

Bear. I really don’t like it. It sounds like a comedy name to me.

aibutohavethisusername · 24/11/2019 23:05

I really like it.

TheoriginalLEM · 24/11/2019 23:08

Barnaby the bears my name!!But don't worry, that was a 1970's kids program that i remember fondly.

I really like it, although less keen on Barney- that's a dogs name :)

Eyewhisker · 25/11/2019 14:37

Not keen sorry. The Barnaby I know has changed his name for work.

Flymetothestars · 25/11/2019 16:23

Why would a Barnaby change his name for work? Hahahaha I’m actually LOLing now (sorry hate that expression but I genuinely did laugh out loud). In what world or job is Barnaby going to be an inappropriate name for work? I can understand maybe he just didn’t like his name but to say he has to change it “for work” .... really?! @Eyewhisker

(Hope this doesn’t come across as rude. I’m just intrigued!)

mrnoballs · 25/11/2019 19:08

Once met a really hot guy called Barnaby, he was also lovely! Likes the name ever since!
