Need urgent help

We have an appointment at the registry office today and although we have decided the first name to be James we are still unsure on middle names. We are trying to chose between the following. Which do people like best

James edward
James theodore
James frederick
James matthias

James William is my favourite. Congratulations.

James Matthias is nice and a bit unusual 😁. The others are a little dry... But all lovely choices! Hope your appointment goes well!

JEL is not great and Edward is boring - cross off.

Matthias doesn't flow, too many ms. Cross off.

Theodore and Frederick are both great, and more interesting. I love Theodore but agree that Theo names are v trendy right now - so would go for Frederick.

James Frederick is my favourite combination.

Matthias is nice but the -s ending not great with James. Frederick works very well but I just don't like it as much as Theodore. Edward combined with James is (sorry) rather boring, not to mention a bit Tank Engine-y.

Why the need for a middle name? Just James is lovely

I think Frederick goes best with a two syllable L surname. It’s also a bit more unusual that Edward. Ps my initials were JEL and I had no problems with it!

Just got back and still couldn't decide so we went for 2 middle names, James Edward Matthias. Still thinking about Frederick though! Thanks everyone for your input.
