Husband and I want to honor Welsh and Scandinavian heritage but want opinions on the name! Other suggestions welcome.

From purely how it sounds, I think it’s great.
Distinctive.

@BikeRunSki
Thanks!!

Gorgeous 😀

BonBon411 · 16/11/2019 18:21

Henry Ellis sounds far better.

fudgecakelova11122 · 16/11/2019 18:23

Ohh love henrick Ellis!

percheron67 · 16/11/2019 18:24

Hooray! Another Holby fan.

NoHummus · 16/11/2019 18:27

But Henry isn't Scandinavian. Confused
I like both names, but I think the 'flow' is better is you switch them around, so Ellis Henrik.

rosiehan94 · 16/11/2019 18:27

@BonBon411 we considered Henry but it isn't really Danish. I'd go with another Scandinavian name with Ellis if I found one I liked as much!

Neither name is to my taste but they definitely go well together.

rosiehan94 · 16/11/2019 18:28

@NoHummus we considered this too, but my brother has a similar name and I know I'd shorten it to "El" (his nickname), so it felt weird! Open to other first name suggestions though.

LOVE IT! And I rarely love the names offered in this forum....

rosiehan94 · 16/11/2019 18:30

@Krazynights34 @fudgecakelova11122
Glad you like it! It's the rik at the end I'm unsure of but I don't want to do just Henry. I keep reminding myself names Erik and Kendrick also end with that sound so it's really not weird.

I don’t like Ellis but I love Henrik

rosiehan94 · 16/11/2019 18:30

@Shmithecat2 good! :D

rosiehan94 · 16/11/2019 18:32

@ilyjccs we could also go with another Welsh boy name that flows with Henrik. Just wanted something a tad more modern to go with an older first name.

Love Henrik but I am a Celtic fan!

Henrik Alwyn has a nice ring too.

rosiehan94 · 16/11/2019 18:44

@RJnomore1 love it but our last name is basically Wyn Grin

Henrik sounds like a vampire!

Cbeebiesrehab · 16/11/2019 18:53

Like it a lot-but the welsh spelling is Elis with one L if that matters to you at all?

Cbeebiesrehab · 16/11/2019 18:54

I would worry about him becoming a Ricky though!

EdWinchester · 16/11/2019 18:55

Elis is better then Ellis imo.

MrsTerryPratchett · 16/11/2019 19:08

Love The name but it may possibly end up being misspelled as Henry Kellis.

MrsBertBibby · 16/11/2019 19:19

It would be better as Henrik Elias. Flows better.

rosiehan94 · 16/11/2019 19:26

@MrsBertBibby ooh... I like

rosiehan94 · 16/11/2019 19:28

@Cbeebiesrehab good tip! I do care about the Welsh spelling. And I hope it doesn't turn to Ricky... I think id just try my best to shut that down early on and hopefully he'd agree and stop it himself later. Haha
