No name jumping out at me

Hi I have a ds named jack I tend to lean towardsmore traditional names. I was worried Jack would be really popular but he's the only one I've met where I live all through nursery and into school.

We have some names but nothing is making me think that's the one. This is a mix of my names, partners and my 5 year old ds suggestions.

Anyone have anymore ideas?

I have

Henry
Harry
William
George
Charlie
Lucas
Alexander
Arthur
Finley
Lewis
Ethan
Elliot
Thomas
Daniel
Ezra
Oscar
Luca

I'm finding it really hard. Some of those are family names. And Jack is named after a mutual friend who passed away. And he was always going to be Jack or lily.

Open to suggestions, help,

Luca is fabulous! Arthur next favourite.

MissHenty · 12/11/2019 07:28

You’ve got some great names there OP I think it’s going to be hard to ever find one you love as much as Jack because of the significance of the name to you.

I love William (nn Billy) Alexander Lewis Elliot and lots of your others

How about

Eli
Ellis
Rex
Barnaby
Cole
Tristan
Jacob
Joshua
Rory

I think your names are nicer than all my suggestions and are more classic

Are you def having another boy?

Bigearringsbigsmile · 12/11/2019 07:28

Alexander is a great name. Lots of lovely shortenings and a handsome feel to it.

MissHenty · 12/11/2019 07:28

I also love Arthur Luca and Oscar

Timetobegood · 12/11/2019 07:30

I like all your names (except Finley) and they would all go with Jack.

Ohilovedinosaurs · 12/11/2019 07:33

Matthew
Peter
Jeremy
Michael
Toby

JosieB68 · 12/11/2019 07:37

What about Leo? Lots of lovely names on your list.

Eyre89 · 12/11/2019 07:51

Yeah defintely another boy. He wanted a sister so we thought we'd better find out. He's happy now though.

Luca is Jack's favourite name.

Some more lovely ideas. I think we may just have the list and when he's born see what we think suits. Which is fine. Getting constantly questioned on whether we have decided is irritating.

You're probably right that Jack felt significant and was always going to be it. And he does suit it.

Thanks for the other ideas and reassurance the names I have do work with Jack.

It probably wouldn't end up being Finley as my dp doesn't really like it.

Alexander is a fab name. As is Thomas. I always wanted a Tom, but when my son came it just did not suit him.

schafernaker · 12/11/2019 20:39

Big fan of Thomas over here 🙋🏻‍♀️

Tillygetsit · 13/11/2019 01:05

If I didn't have a DH, this one would be Daniel so I love that.

NoSauce · 13/11/2019 08:12

With Jack I like Oscar, Harry, James, Louis, Alexander.

Eyre89 · 13/11/2019 16:55

Yeah I like Thomas but dp isn't as keen. He likes Tommy but I don't really. I would use Tom as a nickname

BonBon411 · 13/11/2019 17:02

I love
Henry
Alexander
Elliott
Daniel

BonBon411 · 13/11/2019 17:03

Thomas is always lively

PreschoolYes · 13/11/2019 17:14

I have a Thomas so I'm biased, but it's a great name and we don't come across any others, DS is 3.

Oh and Miles

horse4course · 13/11/2019 17:31

I think Jack and Danny has a certain ring to it

Spied · 13/11/2019 17:33

Thomas!
I don't like Luca with Jack ( if going together bothers you at all)

bridgetreilly · 13/11/2019 19:17

Elliot or Thomas.

AliceAforethought · 13/11/2019 19:51

Hmm, tricky... that’s a good list of solid, dependable names. You can’t really go wrong, nothing objectionable about any of them.

I like Lewis, Luca and Alexander from your list. Don’t meet many Lewis’s these days, could do with a revival!

diddlediddle · 13/11/2019 20:10

Elliot is closest to Lilly - and a lovely name!

MikeUniformMike · 13/11/2019 20:15

Don't let your DS choose his little brother's name. He can choose his own children's names in due course.
Otherwise DS2 might get named after DS1's best mate that week or favourite cartoon character.

17caterpillars1mouse · 13/11/2019 20:17

Popularity aside I really love Lucas, Henry and Thomas. Also love Ezra but feel its a different style to Jack (which I also love BTW)

I'll suggest Samuel, Alec and Benjamin

Eyre89 · 15/11/2019 19:19

Thanks everyone. Some great suggestions. Jack can't pick or it would be chandler at the minute!
