“Giving birth to an old person”?! You know former “old person” names like Stanley and Arthur are all completely mainstream now yeh?

BelfastmummyL · 05/11/2019 10:03

Sebastian was first name came to mind with Rosanna. Maybe Edward or Albert?

Girl
Emily, Miriam, Vivienne,

I don’t see how Wilfred is “done to death” it’s number 146 on the name charts and given to 0.055% of babies - pretty minuscule

Truly? Maybe it's a South-East London thing or maybe just an impression compounded by MN. When my DS was in primary school 13 odd years ago there were 2 Willfreds in his class and 4 years later another Willfred and one Will in my 2nd son's class.

In any case it seems I'm wrong and it's a nice name so:

Fletcher, Willfred and Lillian thenSmile

IckleBear · 05/11/2019 10:53

Wilfred is good.
Lillia instead?

GreigLaidlawsbarofsoap · 05/11/2019 15:50

Wilfred - it's a nice enough name but my first association is the tragic WW1 poet Wilfred Owen which makes me sad. I'm a poetry geek tho!

GreigLaidlawsbarofsoap · 05/11/2019 15:51

And Fletcher makes me think of Ronnie Barker behind bars.

I like your girls names a lot!

AfterSomeAdvice1234 · 05/11/2019 19:20

Love them all! But slightly prefer Freddie as a NN for Wilfred. Only slightly.

17caterpillars1mouse · 05/11/2019 20:52

I love Wilf but not as keen on Wilfred. Also know a few born recently so guessing it's on the up

Fletcher - I really quite like this, and Fletch

Winifred - love this and nn Winnie. I just find it delightful but I do worry a teenager wouldn't

Lillian - love Lillian but not Lily. It's dd2s middle name

isitxmasyet · 05/11/2019 20:54

I like them all!

loooosir · 05/11/2019 20:56

I like Wilf/Wilfred.

Isn't Winnie slang for vulva in some areas?

Lilian makes me think of The Archers.

WBWIFE · 05/11/2019 23:50

@loooosir never heard of it as slang I'm from Bristol though

Not sure what the archers is?

I love Winifred but I would call her Freddie for short.

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 06/11/2019 22:16

Winnie and wilf

NoSauce · 06/11/2019 22:34

Sorry I don’t like any.

Frith2013 · 08/11/2019 19:00

I’m not a fan of any but Fletcher is the worst.

Whattodoabout · 10/11/2019 06:38

I only like Wilfred. Lillian would most likely become Lily which is ubiquitous.

EleanorShellstrop100 · 10/11/2019 16:42

I ADORE Winnie and Wilf!

averythinline · 10/11/2019 18:24

I quite like Win and the association Lilian ok but bland in comparison

Fletcher ok Wilf ok but not keen on Wilfred

joystir59 · 10/11/2019 18:30

Lilian is acceptable. The other names are dreadful imo

BonBon411 · 10/11/2019 18:30

Love Lily , but those names are awful!
