I have a Will and a Louis and am expecting a girl. I am absolutely stumped with names however. I want something to go with the boys names, but something pretty and girly after two boys!
Names I like are:

Kate
Eliza
Iris
Penelope
Nell
Fearne
Lily

Please could you let me know your thoughts or throw some Similar suggestions at me! Thanks 😊

Lovely names

Favourites are Eliza and Penelope

Least favourite is Kate as it will seem very “mummsy” to the next generation. Everyone will say to her “oh that’s my mums name” and it will feel a bit frumpy. Its a nice name but was SO popular in the 80s (yet is rarely used now) I think it will feel very dated. People will assume shes 20 years older than she actually is .

Suggestions for girly names

Willa
Delilah
Ottilie (ottie)
Clementine (Clemmie)
Roxanne /Roxanna
Emmy/Emmie
Edith (Eddie)
Anya
Imogen

Oh yes Aurora or Aurelia are nice

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 03/11/2019 14:12

I love your 2 choices of either:

Will, Louis and Eliza,
Will, Louis and Penelope

My suggestions:

Will, Louis and Beatrice
Will, Louis and Jemima
Will, Louis and Ophelia
Will, Louis and Isla
Will, Louis and Cordelia
Will, Louis and Molly
Will, Louis and Esme
Will, Louis and Emily

AlbertWinestein · 03/11/2019 14:14

Will, Louis and Kate will just look like you have an obsession with the Royal family!

Astronica · 03/11/2019 14:41

Not Lily with Louis. All the others go well. Nell is very cool, and you could also do Nell as a short form of Penelope.

Tess
Blythe
Imogen
Ingrid
Kitty

Don’t use Kate! I think with a Will and a Louis it is a bit much, no? You’d also need a George and Charlotte to complete the set.

I like Penelope nn Penny and Eliza.
Don’t like Fearne at all and Lily is far too trendy / 2010s for me really (although I think the peak has gone).
In a similar vein I think Edith nn Edie?

Spied · 03/11/2019 15:18

Eliza

PsychosonicCindy · 03/11/2019 15:20

I like all your names also could use:
Sarah
Rose
Cassandra
Annabelle
Poppy
Harriet (Hattie)

AfterSomeAdvice1234 · 03/11/2019 15:25

Love Kate!

Also:
Tessa
Ella
Nora
Freddie
Adeline
Clotilde
Madeline
Genevieve

PrincessLouis · 03/11/2019 15:26

I wouldn’t go for an ‘L’ sound as you already have WiLL and Louis, so it’s a no to Eliza, Nell, Penelope, Lily for me. Agree with PPs about Kate giving too much of a royal vibe. Fearne is not classic enough to go with your other choices imo. Iris is great. Or what about:

Will, Louis and Sophie
Will, Louis and Amelia
Will, Louis and Anna
Will, Louis and Rose
Will, Louis and Francesca

MumOfBoys81 · 03/11/2019 15:40

Thanks everyone! Certainly given me food for thought. I do love Rose but was worried about its popularity. Quite a few like Anna, Ava, Isla, Grace, Isabella etc are out as we have 10 nieces between us! 🙈

NoSauce · 03/11/2019 15:54

With Will and Louis I would put

Harriet
Alice
Lucy
Eleanor
Matilda
Florence
Beatrice
Clara
India
Rose

MissHenty · 03/11/2019 16:35

@WillLouie1 @MumOfBoys81 think you’ve got 2 accounts OP so have tagged both - I meant to add that I really like Iris too.

How about Violet x

mistydayswampwitch · 03/11/2019 16:42

I love Iris and Fearne for your list! I would spell Fern that way though.

Shelby30 · 03/11/2019 16:52

First name that came to mind to go with ur boy names was Emily.

Robs20 · 03/11/2019 16:54

Dd1 is Eliza so that is my favourite from your list but I like most of them. Don’t like Fearne. How about Freya?

Vanannabananna · 03/11/2019 17:01

DD is Kate. I love it because it isn’t heard much these days. I like all your choice though.

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 03/11/2019 17:03

Love fern, iris, nell and Eliza.
Amy
Lauren
Felicity
Freya
Jessica
Jemima
Lucy
Imogen
Phillipa

bridgetreilly · 03/11/2019 17:52

Rose is more popular for middle names than first names. I think it would be a good choice as a first name with your boys.

I would avoid Nell given that you have a Will.

Bananice · 03/11/2019 18:11

I have a William and Nell, would would have been Louis if she was a boy. William is called Will by his friends - I’ve never been worried about their names sounding similar as I figure they’re only mentioned together rarely, and I loved both names too much to let that out me off!

Bananice · 03/11/2019 18:11

*put me off

Trustmeimamidwife · 03/11/2019 18:14

I love Lily and Penelope

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 03/11/2019 18:25

Flora
Marnie
Kitty
Daisy
Nancy
Tess

Jossina · 03/11/2019 19:13

Not Kate or Eliza. And I prefer Nell if it's a nickname for Eleanor or other names.
