Name for fourth boy!

DS4 due imminently.

We already have Rufus, Maxim (Max) and Ivo.

We’re a bit stumped this time! Names we like but don’t feel we can use include:

James — too many in the family/friend circle already
Jago — too close to Ivo?
Otto — ditto
Magnus — too close to Rufus and/or Maxim
Wilfrid (Wilf) — husband not too keen
Yann — bit too “continental”?
Henry — friend’s son
Dashiell — bit too “out there”?

We also quite like Samson... not 100% on it though.

Any more ideas or feedback please?

I LOVE your current boys names and think Otto and Jago are the best on your list!

SunsetOverEasterIsland · 02/11/2019 08:04

Solomon known as Sol

RolytheRhino · 02/11/2019 08:09

Dashiell isn't any more out there than Ivo IMO. Less so, in fact- isn't the boy child in the Incredibles called Dashiell?

I remember a sky TV advert where the mother said, 'Dashiell Robert Parr!'.

NoSauce · 02/11/2019 08:36

Dashiell is great.
Cassius

Ac90 · 02/11/2019 08:39

What about Marcel or lyll (lyel) x

MissHenty · 02/11/2019 08:41

How about Marley

TheVanguardSix · 02/11/2019 08:49

I love the diminutive Dash for Dashiell.

You'd mentioned Tor as a diminutive for the name, was it Torben? Be a bit aware that Tor is also the name of a browser used by dark web users. It's got illicit connotations. I imagine most people won't put two and two together. It's nerds like me overthinking things!

I love all of your names!

TheVanguardSix · 02/11/2019 08:51

I know this is going waaaay out there, but why not?

Franz.

It's just cool.

Wulfric

TheVanguardSix · 02/11/2019 15:40

Yeah Sol for Solomon is really cool, isn't it? Or Saul as a name on its own. Saul of Tarsus!
I prefer Saul. DD has a Sol in her class and he is as cool and lovely as his name.

FizzyGreenWater · 02/11/2019 16:51

Torben is fab.

I love Yann - not too continental at all! Breton, so practically our lot anyway Grin

Keir, Ludo, Thorfinn, Mungo, Kim.

FizzyGreenWater · 02/11/2019 16:52

I was going to say Kit, which is also ace, but I think Kim is possibly even cooler. Nobody has a Kim any more.

TheVanguardSix · 02/11/2019 18:48

Kim is such a cool name.

Hal (I know it's diminutive for Henry) but I was reading about the actor Timothee Chalamet and his full name is Timothee Hal Chalamet. I just thought, Hal, that's really got a cool ring to it.

I love your style of names. When I read the list I thought Bruno.

ShivD · 02/11/2019 20:08

My 4th boy is Wilfred.

Pregnant with DC5 and like Otto and Ivo for a boy!

My other 3 boys are Rudy, Gus and Phineas if that helps.

FizzyGreenWater · 02/11/2019 20:14

Bruno is good.

Have to say however I really dislike Dashiell - it just seems a bit meh and fussy and just odd rather than 'out there'. I peg it with Elliott, another one I just don't get.
