We’re due our second daughter soon and finding choosing the perfect name so difficult!
We like short names (2 syllables maximum) and nothing that gets shortened too a nickname. We also looking for something outside of the top uk 40.

Our shortlist so far:
Vienna
Indie (not sure if it’s a strong enough name for an adult)
Luna (maybe too popular?)

Any thoughts on these names? Open to new suggestions!

Smile

How about Ellie?

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 29/10/2019 14:19

Vienna is three syllables, what about Viola? I think it's a prettier name and would avoid any future joke-potential about the city/canals/gondolas

My Indie is short for India?
I know you said you didn’t like shortened names but I also like Marnie so thought you may x

Abouttogonuts · 29/10/2019 14:20

Of your list, I like Indie (could be something like Indiana or Indigo, with Indie for short).

I know a Marnie with a sister called Marigold. They call her Goldie for short. Marnie and Goldie (or Marnie and Marigold). Sounds great!

Opps sorry was meant to put next to Vienna (not sure if it’s too long for us!) xx

Thanks for the suggestions of longer names for Indie.. which I do like!
The problem is I’ve got a name which has been shortened to my nn my whole life and I hate having 2 names. x

Mabel?

tooyoungat40 · 29/10/2019 14:33

Or Alice if you didn't want another 'M' name.

OceanPearl · 29/10/2019 14:34

I love Mable! It was on my list but unfortunately DH is really not keen so I had to take it off x

My absolute favourite book as a child was When Marnie Was There, so I’m suggesting Anna.
