Belle Elle, obvs.

Krazynights34 · 18/10/2019 13:18

Maybe (because I knew a wonderful nurse in Great Ormond street Hospital with that name) and Belle is very sweet

RainbowBlanket · 18/10/2019 13:20

Phoebe

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 18/10/2019 20:08

Belle lou sounds like the bear from jungle book sorry
I love the name violet usually but violet lou makes me think of an upset stomach violet elle just really doesn't sound right, think it's too many L's and E's
I'd probably go Maggie or phoebe with lou

Ihateedmundelephant · 19/10/2019 09:09

I like Violet. I don’t like Lou or Elle. Agree with a PP that a longer middle name might be nicer - Louisa/Louisa? Elodie/Eleanor/literally any El name?

Ihateedmundelephant · 19/10/2019 09:13

Actually, I think any of the first names are nice, except Layne which is really don’t like. But Lou and Elle aren’t very nice and don’t go with any of the first names. Maggie Lou sounds a bit like she should live in a trailer in the Deep South, Maggie Elle sounds like “Bloody ‘ell!” Violet Lou sounds like a purple toilet, Violet Elle flows into one word and sounds like ‘Volatile’. Phoebe Lou is maybe the least bad combination but also sounds a bit trailer-trash, Phoebe Elle just doesn’t flow. Belle Lou and Belle Elle are so obviously bad there’s no need for me to even point out why. Can you change the middle names?

subwaysaladfan · 19/10/2019 09:21

I know a lainey and I like it. I like violet and phoebe not keen on the others.

daisypond · 19/10/2019 09:28

Phoebe is the only one I like.
Maggie is very nice if short for Margaret.
I know a Lainey. Not heard of Layne.

MikeUniformMike · 19/10/2019 09:55

Layne could be a middle name.
First name Violet or Penny would sound quite nice.

Lou2120 · 19/10/2019 10:02

Layne is a name I've heard used in america.
Obviously I wouldn't use combinations like Belle Elle!! My middle names have family meaning however I am open to different middle names!

I couldn't imagine calling my baby Margaret, although appreciate your suggestions!

Any other names for girls you all like feel free to give suggestions however I dont like names that are over used such as Ellie, Isla, Isabella etc.

Phoebe is lovely. Why not call her Phoebe Belle?

LightandShadowsByTurn · 19/10/2019 10:04

Phoebe Louise rather than Lou

WhoArtinHeaven · 19/10/2019 10:33

Phoebe

The middle names I'm not keen on, sorry!

user1493494961 · 19/10/2019 16:39

Phoebe or Violet. Not keen on your middle names, agree with pp Phoebe Belle would be nice. Layne is awful.

YesIReallyDoLikeRootBeer · 19/10/2019 19:43

I like Violet.

Are you pronouncing Layne like Lane or Lane-y. If it's Lane-y that is a name used in America, but spelled Lainey. I would pronounce Layne like Lane if I saw it.

LadyLanka · 19/10/2019 20:45

A very dear relative was
Grace Violet

AgeLikeWine · 19/10/2019 20:50

I grew up in the 80s, so Maggie will always remind me of Thatcher. That is not a good thing.

I quite like Phoebe & Belle.

Soosiesoo · 19/10/2019 21:03

Phoebe, cos I have one and she's wonderful!

Her middle name is Isabella but we also liked:

Phoebe Willow
Phoebe Louise
Phoebe Alice

Mumof21989 · 20/10/2019 07:00

Hi I don't like Maggie or Layne very much and I think Lou is overused. I'm in the UK. Love phoebe, belle, Violet and Elle though Grin
