Hard time with girl names...

HelloBb · 16/10/2019 08:12

The names I find interesting at the moment are

Marcella
Susana
Annelise

Susana seemed dated at first and I’m not saying it’s growing on me, but I think it would age well and Susie is kinda cute?? Could just be hormones... I always have a rly hard time with girl names.
What do you think of when you hear (or read) these names?
Thanks

Love Susana and Annelise!

NerdyCurvyInkedandPervy · 16/10/2019 08:16

I really like Susana - especially with the nn Susie.

Annelise is marginally better than Marcella, which is awful tbh.

PandasMum · 16/10/2019 08:21

I love Susannah but like this

Apolloanddaphne · 16/10/2019 08:22

Marcella: Hard nosed/messed ump cop (have you even seen the TV series??) I find it a harsh name
Susana: Will forever be mis-spelled Susanna (to me the best spelling), Susannah etc
Annelise: I know one so to me is it the name of a loud but lovely 50 something woman. Quite cute though.

MikeUniformMike · 16/10/2019 08:29

Marcella = tv cop. Marce-ella or March-ella. Not keen.
Susana - Spanish spelling?
Annelise - Annalise? Anneliese?

You will have spelling issues with the last two.
Susana (Susanna/Susannah) is my favourite and yes to nn Susie.

CampfireZen · 16/10/2019 08:32

Annelise is lovely, OP

(and the Olympic skier Annelise Coberger is a pretty cool namesake)

Ihateedmundelephant · 16/10/2019 08:47

I like Annelise but it’s difficult to spell! I really dislike the other two.

Shadow1234 · 16/10/2019 15:16

Love Annelise, but prefer it spelt Annalise

Spied · 16/10/2019 15:20

Annelise is lovely.
Marcella- gangster-type.
Susana- dated.

HelloBb · 16/10/2019 16:44

Thanks all! I think I like Marcella because I don’t watch tv and it’s the girls name from the Raggedy Anne books... however I’d hate if she were ever called Marci so I should prob nix that one.

I also kinda like Gemma

I love Gemma @HelloBb

Not keen on Marcella, although I don't think the name would raise eyebrows, Annelise is pretty, like Annie as a shortening, I quite like Susannah (prefer this spelling). I think Gemma is dated.

123Dancewithme · 16/10/2019 19:48

I love Susanna and Annaliese with these spellings.

071019DD · 17/10/2019 06:27

Annelise/Annalise.... really lovely OP.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 17/10/2019 06:31

I know a baby Gemma. Prefer Jemma.
Actually really like Jenna.

AfterSomeAdvice1234 · 17/10/2019 06:33

I know a baby Annaliese who is Anna for short and it's lovely.

PandasMum · 17/10/2019 06:57

Susannah and Aneliese are beautiful but I never know how to spell the latter

I don’t really like Gemma at all - what about Jemima? I think that’s a really lovely name

Astronica · 17/10/2019 08:37

I love Susana, though I'm used to the English spellings Susannah, Suzannah. The others names are also good though too.

CakeRattleandRoll · 17/10/2019 10:14

Love Annaliese, but I like Susanna, too.
