I really dislike it

CountFosco · 13/10/2019 17:08

I love the name, spelt Robin. Don't like the Robyn spelling at all.

Please don’t name your child Robina as suggested above - is that even a name?! confused

Yes, it's a Scottish female name, I have older relatives with that name.

DramaAlpaca · 13/10/2019 17:09

Robyn is a better spelling for a girl, but I'm not fond of it as a name.

Teacakeandalatte · 13/10/2019 17:12

I like it.

bridgetreilly · 13/10/2019 17:19

I like it and much prefer Robin to Robyn.

Shockers · 13/10/2019 17:22

I love it, but I feel that the spelling Robyn takes away from the name a little, so I’d go with Robin, even for a girl. It was one of the names i had in mind 19 years ago, so I don’t think it’s led by fashion either.

Daffodil2018 · 13/10/2019 17:24

I love it - both spellings. I wish I'd called my daughter Robin as she was born at Christmas. It's unusual and beautiful.

CalamityJune · 13/10/2019 17:27

I love Robyn for a girl. Unfortunately, it doesn't go with my surname or it would be near the top of my list!

HeronLanyon · 13/10/2019 17:32

I have a lovely Robin female relative. She’s American where that spelling is normal for women. Like the name. Not as fond of Robyn spelling.

TheGirlWithTheFeatherTat · 13/10/2019 17:36

My lovely wee gran was called Robina and I want to call my first child Robin/Robyn in honour of her

hungryhippie · 13/10/2019 17:37

I don't like it.
I instantly think of the bird and to my ear, it sounds like a wet boys name.

StandardPoodles · 13/10/2019 17:40

I really like it!

diddlediddle · 13/10/2019 17:41

Robin, v cute.

Don't do Robyn, I find it naff.

SwedishEdith · 13/10/2019 17:50

I knew a Robina - always called Robin, I think. And knew a few males Robins - one of whom went by his 2nd name instead.

I like it and would stick with Robin spelling.

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 13/10/2019 17:53

Read the Chalet School. The Robin is quite simply one of the most irritating fictional characters ever. Otherwise I’d say it’s quite a pleasant name.

balonzz · 13/10/2019 17:53

I know this is entirely personal, but my very first bully was a girl called Robyn. It was at nursery school in 1964, and yes, I still remember you, you little cow.

MileyWiley · 13/10/2019 17:56

Definately Robyn for a girl. Robin is the male version

mumderland · 13/10/2019 18:00

Robyn was on our list of girls names before we found out we were having a boy. It's a lovely name and not over used

Snog · 13/10/2019 18:02

Love it
Also like Wren

Lilytheblue · 13/10/2019 18:02

I know a VERY chavvy Robyn. That’s put me off

Robs20 · 13/10/2019 18:04

I like it.

daisypond · 13/10/2019 18:40

If you go for it, definitely not Robyn, which is tacky.

Frith2013 · 13/10/2019 19:08

It’s not a girl’s name to me. It’s the name of my (male) friend and my school friend’s dad.

weebarra · 13/10/2019 19:10

Don't like Robyn, but like Robin!

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 13/10/2019 19:16

I love it. I have a friend who is a Robyn and another whose daughter is Robin. I think it's a strong name.
