Do you like the name?

Do you know anyone called Boudicca?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Gaia is a lovely name too

MirandaGoshawk · 04/10/2019 17:21

I love the name/connotations but would never inflict it on a child. But then I think about a very confident young woman who appeared on Pointless a while back and her first names were Truly Scrumptious, which makes Boudicca look a bit tame. but still, please don't do it. It's a nice name for a dog/cat/hamster/goldfish.

There’s one in my area. She’s an artisanal bread maker.

Yes. She would be.

BoudicasBoudoir · 04/10/2019 20:24

Obviously I think it’s a magnificent name.

Wizzbangpop · 04/10/2019 20:27

It’s a rather strong name to live up to
Fwiw I prefer Boadicea. It’s softer somehow

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 04/10/2019 20:28

I hope for the sake of your unborn baby that you are a troll

scrivette · 04/10/2019 20:33

I like unusual names, however as a PP said it is a rather 'magnificent' name and may be a lot for a little girl to carry off.

Purplestorm83 · 04/10/2019 20:38

I really like the historical connection but can’t get past the ‘dick’ sound in the middle, unfortunately. How about:

Thea
Freya
Athena
Guinevere
Minerva
Artemis
Sabrina
Sulis (probably only works if you’re from Bath 😉)

Ginnymweasley · 04/10/2019 20:39

I wouldn't personally name my child it. It's a difficult name to spell and pronounce and is quite a heavy name for a child.
I don't know anyone personally but I did meet a lady in the drs surgery once whose toddler was called Boudicca. The toddler seemed nice enough but her mum was wearing tie dye culottes and was constantly telling everyone within a 30 mile radius how clever and adorable her child was compared to every other child in the waiting room for the health clinic. She didn't appear to have a nickname as every sentence was started off with "Boudicca is...."

imiss · 04/10/2019 21:02

I love it!

BentNeckLady · 04/10/2019 21:05

I know one, she’s lovely and known as boudi.

I really like it tbh 👍🏼

4SimpleWords · 04/10/2019 21:09
