Matilda

So I'm expecting a girl after two boys Noah and Jacob. I absolutely loved their names and never had any doubts. They weren't picked because I was looking for biblical names I just loved them both.
But I just dont seem to love any girls names.
I loved Matilda during my pregnancy with both boys but now I'm just not sure. Maybe I've had it in my mind so long I've gone off it but then nothing else seems to appeal to me either. I keep searching the threads on here for inspiration but nothing feels right.

What do you all think of Matilda? Does it go well with Noah and Jacob?
Suggestions also welcome. Prefer shorter names with less likely nickname options. Popularity is not an issue. Not necessarily looking for a biblical name. Nothing too unusual or out there as it wouldnt fit right with Noah and Jacob.
Thank you!

Matilda told such dreadful lies
It made one gasp and stretch one's eyes

Not keen. I don't think it goes with the boys' names. Really dislike Tilly and Tilda.

How about Esther/Hester?

Clementine
Louisa

I think Matilda is fab.

I love the name Matilda, Tilly is a lovely nickname for when she is little

ImAShowPony · 01/10/2019 13:03

Love Matilda, nn Mati?
Not sure about your suggested middle names though. They don't work for me (personally!) Something with one syllable seems to work best.

Oooh a Biblical name would be so tidy, I couldn’t resist!

Noah, Jacob and Ada
Noah, Jacob and Eve
Noah, Jacob and Lydia
Noah, Jacob and Naomi
Noah, Jacob and Phoebe

Matilda is darling ❤️
Matilda June was suggested, which I think is lovely. Or Matilda Jane, Matilda Rose, Matilda Louise, Matilda Jean, Matilda Holly, Matilda Kate, Matilda Hazel

Mine is Matilda 2 syllable middle name Ann.

And I know 8 under 4! Definitely on the up in deepest darkest Yorkshire. I met one mum at a playgroup who was most put it I had I had a Matilda too as she thought she had the only one.

Mine is a Tilda, as her cousin has a name that rhymes with Millie. But also because she was loosely named after Tilda Swinton as I wanted a name connected with Narnia, but not Lucy or Susan.

I think Matilda goes really well with your boys' names and it feels as though it's past its popularity peak in North London at least.
Matilda Wren is cute.
I also like:
Matilda Hanna
Matilda Carys
Matilda Lois

I love Matilda, gorgeous name.

bluerad · 04/10/2019 10:47

How about the French version Mathilde pronounced mat hilled to be a bit different

Poetryinaction · 04/10/2019 23:12

Matilda Aria is lovely. I dislike Tilly though.

mumofnoahandjacob · 04/10/2019 23:15

Thank you all for your kind contributions. Ive decided as much as I love Matilda, I dislike all the shortenings. So I've decided to call her Chloe Matilda. Chloe is much less popular now and goes nicely with Noah and Jacob.
Thank you all.

Absolutely love this name.

Even though I have a Matilda Jean (she's known as Tilda or Pips!) I think Chloe is really lovely too. She actually wants to name our DC3 Chloe but sounds too much like my name Grin. Great choice OP.
