Love Betsy and India

Spied · 27/09/2019 15:27

Cara

Expressedways · 27/09/2019 15:29

Cara. I also quite like Cassia. Not wild about any of your other picks.

bridgetreilly · 27/09/2019 15:38

I really like Daphne and Betsy. Prefer Clara to Cara. I don't like India or Cassia.

123Dancewithme · 27/09/2019 15:38

Daphne is my favourite.

NoSauce · 27/09/2019 15:39

India and Cassia are both gorgeous.
Don’t like the others.

LiterallyCantBelieveIt · 27/09/2019 15:41

I love Cara and India. Really don't like Betsy sorry.

Inlovewitharagorn · 27/09/2019 17:07

Daphne - I always feel this a name I ought to love but just don't.
Cara - gorgeous. And love the meaning too.
Clea - not keen. Prefer Cleo or Thea
India - not keen. Katie Hopkins has an India which would really put me off
Cassia - I love this pronounced the British way (CASS - ee- uh) but not the American way (Casher)
Betsy - nice.

Cara or Cassia for me.

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 27/09/2019 17:28

Cassia
Betsy
Daphne
Prefer Cleo to clea
Really don't like India sorry or cara but do like clara

peppinanna · 27/09/2019 17:48

I love Cara. Prefer Cassie to Cassia but do like it and like India too Smile

FindaPenny · 27/09/2019 17:54

Cara and Daphne for me.

Untamedtoad · 27/09/2019 17:58

LOVE Cleo... Clea looks too much like the word flea. Also prefer Cassie over Cassia. Betsy isn't great imho. Sounds a bit "trying too hard to be cute"... same for Daphne, but not as much, I could cope with this name. Cara is nice, prefer Clara. India, I don't mind, and NN Indie is nice. I do think this name suits some more than others. DD has a friend, India, who's very pale, with curly ginger hair, freckles, and glasses and I can't think of a name that would suit her any less. It truly just doesn't seem right on her. I'd go for Cassia out of your list, but mainly use "Cass" or "Cassie".

Don't like Daphne or Clea.

MrsBungle · 27/09/2019 18:13

Cara and India are lovely. Quite like clea and cassia. Daphne is fugly to me and Betsy is too cutesy/insipid in my opinion!

userabcname · 27/09/2019 18:15

Love Daphne!

TempsPerdu · 27/09/2019 18:18

Daphne - really like; nice plant/literary link (the myth maybe not so much!)
Cara - OK, prefer Clara and Cora
Clea - love Cleo but reckon you’d get major pronunciation issues with this (Clay-a vs Clee-a)
India - not keen, too boho/indie wannabe
Cassia - nice if pronounced Cass-ee-uh, don’t like Cash-uh
Betsy - too nicknamey/cutesy

Daphne or Cassia for me.

Shadow1234 · 27/09/2019 18:24

Cara

PreschoolYes · 27/09/2019 18:25

Cara

BentleyVI · 27/09/2019 22:21

Thank you all - it's good to hear some opinions. I am leaning towards Daphne or Cara. Betsy is DHs favourite, I think it would be lovely until she's around 10 but then I worry it's a bit twee as she gets older. We aren't able to use Elizabeth on the BC.

I'm not massively keen on Clara or Cleo. Any other ideas would be welcomed!

Cara is lovely.

Jossina · 27/09/2019 23:21

Betsy could also be a nn for Bethan, Elsbeth/Elspeth, Bettina, Beatrice/Beatrix.

DramaAlpaca · 28/09/2019 00:26

Love Daphne & don't mind Cara.

Don't like the rest. Betsy in particular is awful unless on a toddler.

Astronica · 28/09/2019 03:54

I like Daphne, Cara, Clea and Cassia. I think Cleo or Clara would be good.
Clemency?

NoSauce · 28/09/2019 06:17

Clea is dreadful. Is it even a name?

PushkinTheCat · 28/09/2019 08:59

Cara is lovely, I also like Daphne and Betsy from that list - but share your reservations about cutesiness in relation to Betsy, especially if you can’t use Elizabeth on the birth certificate.

I’m less keen on Clea, India and Cassia, personally, and agree with others about potential pronunciation issues with Clea.
