Which girl’s name do you like best? (Or hate least!?! 😆)

Our DS #1 is called: BRODY ROCCO SHAE.

Our surname is Lawlor.

We like less common names - not necessarily unique, but not in the top 100, and we tend to go for modern/trendy names.
We’re not into “pretty-pretty” or overly feminine names for girls. A “cute” name is fine, but with a more unisex vibe or hint of attitude/spunk!
Hope you get we’re looking for - it’s so hard to describe!

Which would you choose from this list?

Macey
Reya
Miley
Darcie
Remi
Nova
Wren

Or your own suggestion???

Middle names we like atm are Eden Sky or Sky Eden (whichever way round flows best with 1st name).

I quite like Raya. Not keen on the others.

joystir59 · 25/09/2019 16:03

Any of the names on your list will be fine if your daughter turns out to have low aspirations in life, OP.

Morado · 25/09/2019 16:12

@joystir59 wow, what a bitchy thing to say!

pontiouspilates · 25/09/2019 16:17

There are a few Novas around at the moment and it makes me think of the old Vauxhall car. Reya is very pretty, as is Wren.

ginghamstarfish · 25/09/2019 16:20

If you want an honest answer, then I would say they are all 'trendy' names, which tend to be used by certain types of people who don't go for elegant 'classic' names (or even individual ones).

MikeUniformMike · 25/09/2019 16:34

How about Lola?

Geneva1995 · 25/09/2019 18:34

Love Nova and Wren xxx

bridgetreilly · 25/09/2019 18:39

Lois Sky Eden

Macey - awful

Darcie - ok but prefer Dulcie
Remi - reminds me of indigestion tablets
Nova - nice
Wren - love

@tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz @Cookit what exactly do you think anyone is able to do with knowing there is a child somewhere out there with x name ????

AverageMummy · 25/09/2019 19:25

@tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz @Cookit the Telegraph & Times have weekly pages of people more than happy to announce their children’s names. I’m just confused what you think the problem with someone knowing your name is?

Atlasta · 25/09/2019 19:25

My first thought was Stella
Stella Eden Skye

percheron67 · 25/09/2019 19:29

Absolutely dreadful Except for Darcey, spelt the Bussell way.

Tatum1234 · 25/09/2019 19:42

Love Wren and Reya is nice too.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 25/09/2019 19:58

Average no problem and I didn't say there was one I just find it unusual on a forum where we use abbreviations and often prefer to, you know, stay anonymous? Depending on the content of posts sometimes it's good to know you can't be traced via kids details.

Not judging at all, just curious Smile

xTinkerbell · 25/09/2019 20:05

I like Macey best of those

formerbabe · 25/09/2019 20:09

Remi or Nova

Really dislike Macey and Miley.
Darcey is awful too.
Wren is so drippy

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 25/09/2019 20:24

Macey Eden skye lawler

Whattodoabout · 26/09/2019 12:38

I only like Wren.

Miley is obviously Cyrus, Remi is an old school French male name so calling a girl that is weird (bit like calling a girl John) and I’m not keen on any of the others. Nova just makes me think of supernova or the vauxhall nova.

Kokeshi123 · 26/09/2019 12:45

With a surname like Lawlor, you need something that does NOT have any Ls in it. Definitely not Lola! Lola Lawlor sounds like a joke.

I don't really like any of the OP's original suggestions if I'm honest--Wren is probably the best.

VenusClapTrap · 26/09/2019 13:37

Oh PLEASE go for Lola. 😂 You could even have Lily as a middle name.

MikeUniformMike · 26/09/2019 13:46

Laura?
It was me who suggested Lola.

Astronica · 26/09/2019 14:24

I don't think these don't sound good with your surname: Reya, Mila, Nova, Wren - so I'd cross them off.

Macey, Darcie and Remi work. I like Macey best, Remi second.
Macey Eden Sky.

Other ideas:
Romy
Greer
Frankie
Adair
Skye as first name
Xanthe
Stevie

juicyjuicymangoes · 26/09/2019 15:48

Sorry I really don't like any although I'd probably go for wren if I had to choose!

coconuttymummy · 26/09/2019 16:26

We've decided on Reya Eden Sky.

Thanks everyone
