Madeleine/Madeline thoughts?

Do you like or dislike the name Madeleine and either way why? We both love it but for some reason just doesn’t quite feel perfect!

I have a Madeleine. It's never been shortened to Maddi. She is always called by her full name.

Unfortunately I suspect they will as every 5 years or so there is yet another controversial special investigation program as there was recently, another book or more press stories. The McCanns themselves also strive (understandably) to keep her memory alive in the public consciousness.

So I would avoid although its a beautiful name. People will just say silly things. Matilda or Matilde are nice also.

For me Maddy is a little girl's name not one for a grown woman. But what's the alternative? Lynne? Old lady name. Or the full thing which will sound precious
