From those, I only like Monty (Montgomery)

AverageMummy · 11/09/2019 15:59

I don’t really see Freddie and Monty as names so I’d vote for Arthur or Thomas

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 11/09/2019 16:15

Monty is awful.
When is this Arthur fixation going to end.
Freddie is cute, but not to my personal taste.
You can’t go wrong with Thomas. It’s a classic. You can’t make an assumptions on age or class. Plus Tom is a proper manly name. All the Toms I’ve ever met have been lovely

FantasticPhyllis · 11/09/2019 16:19

Thomas

123girlsandboys321 · 11/09/2019 16:41

Haha thank you for your comments

We also like Dexter...

Like all of them, but like Monty best. Not Dexter.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 11/09/2019 16:44

Love Dexter.

WinterRose92 · 11/09/2019 16:57

I love Freddie, I think it’s gorgeous.
If ever I had another son I would call him Freddie.

MrsBertBibby · 11/09/2019 17:32

Frederick, not Freddie.

Thomas is nice but overused.

Monty and Arthur are awful.

MissHenty · 11/09/2019 17:41

I like Arthur and Freddie

user1493494961 · 11/09/2019 21:19

Not keen on Dexter and agree with pp that Thomas is overused. I really like Monty, I know a 5 year old Monty, it really suits him.

MissHenty · 11/09/2019 22:13

Monty sounds very very posh to me

Lotsofbuttons · 11/09/2019 22:50

I like Monty
Also love Arthur but it’s climbed massively in popularity recently
Freddie is also very sweet

Tillygetsit · 11/09/2019 23:05

Monty to me is a dogs name. I know loads. Arthur I dislike. Thomas is ok but everywhere. Dexter makes me think of beef or serial murderers. Sorry.

Jossina · 12/09/2019 02:51

If he's Frederick first, or even Alfred then Freddie is fine. Dexter isn't bad either, but it's a total other direction. Monty only as a nickname.

Fizzytonicplease · 12/09/2019 03:35

Dexter or Monty fab names x

Expressedways · 12/09/2019 03:48

I love Freddie but would go with Frederick or Alfred on the birth certificate. Alternatively Thomas is a nice classic. Arthur is a bit boring and everywhere right now. I know so many dog’s call Monty. I don’t like Dexter as I think serial killer or cows.

MyCatDrinksFlatWhites · 12/09/2019 08:05

Thomas is my favourite but Monty is adorable! However, I’d see it as a cute small child name rather than a name for a teenager or adult (might be just me).

finallychangedmyusername · 12/09/2019 10:51

I like Thomas and Arthur. Thomas is constantly popular whereas Arthur is currently enjoying a popularity spike. Freddie and Monty are nicknames IMO. Dexter isn't my taste, sorry.

Lotsofbuttons · 12/09/2019 19:54

I went for a full name on birth certificate for DS 1 , however he is never referred to as the full name and the full name has actually become very very popular now (frustrating when I wanted a more unusual name) I think if you like a shortened version of a name then definitely go for it. In history lots of names have come about as diminutives of much longer names and are now accepted as names in their own right.

PixieLoo · 12/09/2019 19:55

Just popping in to say i love Monty & Arthur! All of them are lovely!

123Dancewithme · 12/09/2019 23:15

Thomas, definitely.

Ihavehadenoughalready · 13/09/2019 08:30

Of those, Thomas.

I like Leo.
