I think this name is lovely - sweet, vintage and feminine but not too frilly or OTT.

What do you think? Would be a sister for Rosa.

Thoughts appreciated!

I like it OP. Works well with Rosa

Peachbubble · 02/09/2019 16:39

I like it too

BeanBag7 · 02/09/2019 16:44

I think its beautiful

LenoVintura · 02/09/2019 16:48

One of my DDiLs is Adeline. She's a lanky, skinny, feisty live wire Grin so I don't see it as a "sweet" sort of name iyswim. I'd never heard it until I met her.

RickOShay · 02/09/2019 16:56

I love Rosa. It’s the one that got away for me Grin
I am not so sure about Adeline though.

MikeUniformMike · 02/09/2019 17:30

Don't like it sorry.
Love Rosa though.

BelfortGabbz · 02/09/2019 17:50

Sounds a bit like alkaline.
How about Adina?

PurBal · 02/09/2019 17:57

I like it!

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 02/09/2019 18:45

Love it and it complements Rosa beautifully, but I prefer Adaline to Adeline.

Coincidentally have you seen the film The Age of Adaline? It's a beautiful film!

Sparkandgold · 02/09/2019 18:46

Ooooh I like it :)

ballsdeep · 02/09/2019 18:48

Live it. It's in my top two girls names

wowfudge · 02/09/2019 18:49

Reminds me of Bread: gotta get up, gotta get out, etc.

sugarplumfairy28 · 02/09/2019 18:56

Very elegant, not over used, lovely.

ZiggyB · 02/09/2019 18:58

wowfudge I was coming on to say the same Grin

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 02/09/2019 19:06

Wowfudge & ZiggyB Confused???

BubblesBuddy · 02/09/2019 19:12

Sweet Adeline is a song from 1903!

It’s a fairly unusual name and there won’t be many in the school! I always quite liked Adelaide after Queen Adelaide. Short version is, of course, Adele. Go for it OP.

wowfudge · 02/09/2019 20:33

Adeline in Bread was rather dim. Sweet Adelines is a barbershop singing organisation.

Bread was a very popular sitcom in the 1980s. Google it CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook. I quoted the opening line of the theme song.

wowfudge · 02/09/2019 20:40

Actually the character in Bread was Aveline, but that was the association for me.

PatchworkElmer · 02/09/2019 20:43

Love it, was very high on our list for DC, but a close friend had a child with a similar name so we had to let it go.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 02/09/2019 20:45

Ahhhhh I get it now thanks wowfudge I remember a show called bread but never ever watched it!

TheYeaSayer · 02/09/2019 21:20

I don’t like it: it sounds like ‘anodyne’ to me. Also reminds me of adenoids.

AverageMummy · 03/09/2019 08:54

I think it’s beautiful although you need to be ok with the 2 pronunciations coming up frequently

Nonnymum · 03/09/2019 08:56

It's lovely and not very common at the moment.

AdelaideK · 03/09/2019 08:59

I think it's lovely. It reminds me of the Blake Lively film.

MadisonAvenue · 03/09/2019 09:01

It’s really lovely!
