My DH and I are excited to welcome our fist child next year. We don't know the gender yet so have narrowed names down to three choices for boy or girl each.

Would appreciate opinions and votes names! We just can't seem to pick a clear winner

Girls:

  1. Élodie
  2. Clara
  3. Amélie

Boys:

  1. Theo
  2. Felix
  3. Jasper

I like Clara and Jasper.
Please no more Amelies and Theos.

I like Monique very much and I think it goes with all your girls names.

neversplitapole · 01/09/2019 22:03

Mumsnet always say how popular Theo is....I have a theo and I'm yet to come across another one!

Whatnotwot · 01/09/2019 22:06

Clara and Felix are my favourites. But also really like Elodie and Felix.

mistermagpie · 01/09/2019 22:09

Elodie and Felix, 100%

NoSauce · 01/09/2019 22:15

Clara and Jasper.

MrsGilly1 · 01/09/2019 22:38

Èlodie & Theo x

Sophronia · 01/09/2019 22:41

Clara and Jasper

Totopoly · 01/09/2019 22:41

If I had any French connection, I'd have been tempted to call DD Adelaïde. Sadly, I haven't.

Of your names, OP, Clara or Elodie for a girl. All your boys' names are nice.

Emthebaker · 01/09/2019 23:54

These are all such nice names, but Clara and Felix are probably my favourites!

Astronica · 02/09/2019 00:05

I like all 6 of your names. Favourites are Elodie or Clara for a girl and Jasper for a boy. I think your mum's name Monique sounds good as a middle for both Elodie and Clara.

AugustRose · 02/09/2019 00:06

Clara and Felix

Shadow1234 · 02/09/2019 00:54

Elodie is lovely and my favourite on your list
Theo is the only boys name I like on your list

Poetryinaction · 02/09/2019 06:37

Regarding popularity of Theo. The ONS statistics came out last week. Add the Theos to the Theodores and it is the 3rd most popular boy's name atm.

missclimpson · 02/09/2019 06:42

I think Clara and Felix are the ones that work equally well in both countries.

BikeRunSki · 02/09/2019 06:49

Elodie and Felix

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 02/09/2019 16:41

Paramedic who delivered my second daughter was called elodie 😊 I love the name Clara and think Clara monique sounds pretty. Boys, there are quite a lot of theo's at my daughters school, I think we need more jasper's so that gets my vote!!!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 02/09/2019 21:34

Elodie is pretty
My name is Clare and always wished I was Claire-er instead to be a bit more exoticGrin. However I assume you’ll be pronouncing to Cl-ah-ra.
I can’t stand Amelie.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 02/09/2019 21:35

I only like Theo from your boys names

firsttimemum55 · 03/09/2019 07:06

Morning everyone! Thank you so much for your votes and input.
We've decided on Élodie and Felix! 🎉

Took a lot of saying it out loud and writing it down but we've agreed. Thanks again for your input!

They’re gorgeous names OP. Glad you are happy with your choice.

MissHenty · 03/09/2019 20:45

Really love your choices OP and thank you so much for letting us know what you decided - people never seem to do that and it’s infuriating. Love your choices and the accent works because of you being French. My favourite is Theo (I’ve not actually met any yet and I go to many playgroups) but I love felix too. Elodie is perfect.
