Most of them are awful. Either poor spellings or hyphenated
No, they aren't. There's loads of underused, beautiful names. And loads that originate from other countries so are less used here.
I particularly like:
Keziah, Marta, Caoimhe, Eilidh, Storm, Tamara, Ingrid, Jocelyn, Persephone, Trinity, Mabli, Lorelai, Remy, Kayleigh, Angelica, Ariel, Cassandra, Giovanna, Rebekah, Anoushka, Zadie, Kiki, Larissa, Rhiannon, Star, Teagan, Bryony, Fallon, Mercy, Noelle, Alessandra, Devon, Elowyn, Bronte, Clover, Rosina, Kathryn, Rio, Talitha, Zia, Genesis, Cherry, Jacqueline, Clarissa, Arrietty, Bronwyn, Giselle, Katrina, Miranda, Atlanta, Ramona, Elektra, Kirsten, Susannah, Amberley, Avril, Isadora, Ivory, Sorrel, Taryn, Christabel, Carlotta, Fenella, Sage, Xenia, Araminta, Della, Calliope, Silver, Venus, Amity, Calista, Cassiopeia, Delphi, Riona, Rainbow, Yvette, Alanis, Belinda, Calypso, Clarice, Teal, Aphra, Jessamy, Journey, Rocio, Zephyr, Gretel, Tansy and Zipporah
I also have an awed admiration for:
Amazing-Grace, Fanta, Iolanthe, Jupiter and Heavenly-Joy
though I would never consider going there.
What’s with the -rae, -mae, and -rose names?
They've been really popular for years and years. If anything, they're much less popular now than they used to be.
