What do you think of the names Brodie and Caspar? Which do you prefer?

Would you spell as Brodie or Brody / Caspar or Casper?

Thanks!

Prefer Cass or Bodhi if that helps!

thunderandsunshine01 · 30/08/2019 00:02

I really like Brody. Not sure I’ll ever get behind Caspar owing to that bloomin friendly ghost, lol!

AverageMummy · 30/08/2019 00:09

Really don’t like Brodie
Love Casper- also love Caspian

IsobelRae23 · 30/08/2019 00:56

Don’t like Casper- although he’s a friendly ghost, too many chip shops are called similar
I like Brody. Brodie I associate with female 🤷🏻‍♀️

Shadow1234 · 30/08/2019 02:12

Brody

Doyoumind · 30/08/2019 02:18

I'm going to say neither.

Brodie is very American and reminds me of Brody in Jaws.

Caspar is slightly better but I can only think ghost.

diddlediddle · 30/08/2019 07:13

Neither to my taste but Brody is better (prefer y as the ie ending seems more like a nn/feminine/twee for a grown man).

Caspar always sounds a bit pathetic to my ear.

katesalwayslate · 30/08/2019 07:14

Love Caspar!

boughtnotbrought · 30/08/2019 07:17

Brodie - it's Scottish, not American Hmm

devilishlygood · 30/08/2019 07:19

I prefer Brodie. Or maybe Brody. I actually quite like it!! Might add to my list 😁

Caspar is not to my taste.

Dislike Brody, too American. Caspar is OK, the shortening Cass is pretty cool. Caspar is biblical.

Spoonsmum · 30/08/2019 07:48

Love Brodie. Liked it since seeing the delicious Damian Lewis in Homeland.

Astronica · 30/08/2019 07:48

I really like Caspar or Casper. Either spelling is fine though would tend to go for ar.
I'm not keen on Brody.

Sunflower160 · 30/08/2019 08:33

Love both! Brody is best at a push.

IckleBear · 30/08/2019 08:51

Casper

Cbeebiesrehab · 30/08/2019 08:52

Caspar.

CakeRattleandRoll · 30/08/2019 09:03

Prefer Caspar.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 30/08/2019 10:07

I love Casper. Brodie is chavvy to me.
I don’t know why because I’ve only ever met one and he was such a sweet polite little boy.

Peachbubble · 30/08/2019 10:12

Casper

Frith2013 · 30/08/2019 11:01

Casper

bdd2017 · 30/08/2019 19:34

Thanks to everyone who's responded so far. Generally seems the names are viewed as ok, with slight preference to Caspar.

Personally, I don't mind the idea they are 'American' as I believe both to originally be Scottish and my partner has some Scottish heritage, but anyway I don't mind the American feel too much as some of my favourite things are American.

My partner leans more to Caspar and me more to Brodie, so still waits to be seen. I do think Caspar would go down better with grandmother's, as it's more of a familiar name.

Casper. Love it.

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 30/08/2019 21:39

Don't like either at all but Brodie is maybe
Slightly better. Casper just reminds me of the ghost.

Sweetaholic · 30/08/2019 21:46

Bodie - Avenger / dogs name

Caspar - Friendly ghost

Sweetaholic · 30/08/2019 21:48

Sorry Brodie is ok.
I read 'Bodie' - I need 👓
