What are your thoughts on Phoebe?
It's currently the only name DH and I can agree on. I like it - I like the sound, the meaning and the fact that it's a name with a history but no religious connections - but I'm worried about the lack of nicknames and concerned other people might think it's a bit posh/wet. My family don't seem very convinced by it, but I know they'd come around once it was attached to an actual baby!

I think DH only likes it because we jokingly call each other and our DS Bean, and he thinks that Phoe-Bean is cute and funny! He's difficult to choose names with - just let's me make a load of suggestions until he latches onto one and then thinks it's a done deal.

Middle name is likely to be Alexandra (a family name)

Thank you for your opinions and suggestions.

Phoebe is a beautiful name.

One for my favourites. Nicknames just emerge, or not!

I love it and have a best friend and an Aunty Phoebe. It is actually Biblical though, just in case you were specifically avoiding biblical names! She is a lady mentioned by Paul in the New Testament.

I have a Phoebe so I'm obviously biased but I really love it. She gets called pheebs and beebee sometimes but I don't mind these nicknames.

I love it! One of my favourite girls names, though unfortunately it sounds bad with my surname!

I'm Phoebe and I have a sister Alexandra! I've never met another person close to my age with my name though

I love Phoebe, reminds me of Friends! 😄 I agree that nicknames will come naturally... my daughter is Annabelle and she gets Annie, Bell, Bells, Belly along with weirder ones between the family!

Phoebe Alexandra is lovely.

Silenceissilver · 01/09/2019 14:32

It’s a bit wet

Silenceissilver · 01/09/2019 14:33

Also as a PP said, Phoebe is in the bible

TraceyHorrobin · 01/09/2019 20:01

It's lovely, go for it.

I know of two sisters, Phoebe and Phae (pronounced Fay). Phoebe is great on its own.

Jellycat00 · 06/09/2019 04:50

Gorgeous! And i would never describe it as wet or posh!
