We currently have Sadie, Ruby and Edie on our short list for a girl...

We already have a Rose at home.

Any preferences?!

I think Edie is absolutely beautiful. I think it goes lovely with Rose, too!

Atlasta · 27/08/2019 20:49

I prefer Sadie.
Ruby is nice but very popular where I live at least.
Edie I just don't like.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 27/08/2019 20:50

Sadie is my favourite.

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 27/08/2019 20:52

Sadie

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/08/2019 20:59

Edie by a country mile. I can’t abide Sadie. The sound of it makes me seethe and Ruby is getting beyond bleeding boring now and is a tad similar to Rose.

Pixilicious · 27/08/2019 21:04

Sadie
Edie
Ruby

DramaAlpaca · 27/08/2019 21:05

Edie. I don't like Sadie, and although I like Ruby I don't like alliterative sibling names.

Sunshineface123 · 27/08/2019 21:09

Ok thanks so much! So Ruby doesn't seem that popular and Edie and Sadie tying ish, interesting!

Sadie

BrutusMcDogface · 27/08/2019 21:13

We had Edie on our list but discounted it...I think it might be better to call her Eden or something, with Edie as a diminutive.

I also agree that ruby is far too similar to rose; both allude to red. Sounds a bit like a kids’ story, ruby and rose! 😊

Sadie is gorgeous and not well used where I live (in fact I don’t know any!) and it sounds lovely with rose!

Sunshineface123 · 27/08/2019 21:16

Ooh do like Eden - hadn't thought of that!

daisypond · 27/08/2019 21:19

Ruby is my favourite but I wouldn’t have sisters with the same initial. The red theme might be too much as well. Not too keen on Edie or Sadie. They are too cutesy diminutive for me.

Curlysusie · 27/08/2019 21:21

Edie!
I have a Rose 😊

AutumnalLeaves38 · 27/08/2019 21:58

Edie by far!

diddlediddle · 27/08/2019 22:07

Edie is very nicknamey and zeitgeisty at the moment, which is a contrast to Rose, a very classic name.

Eden is so American I wouldn't use that, it's naff. Edith?

Basically Sadie is better! I also do like Ruby but not sure about it with Rose.

MartiniDry · 27/08/2019 22:39

Sadie was the name of my cousins Staffordshire bull terrier so although it's a nice name for a nice dog I wouldn't use it for a child.
Ruby is a nice name but there are quite a lot of them about.

Edie wins but for me it's personal. My late great Aunty had an Edie around 100 years ago and I remember her speaking of her little girl with so much love. Plus, I knew a young man whose surname was Edie. He carried out a very brave and selfless act in an attempt to save someone's life and so I always think warmly of the name.

KronksSpinachPuffs · 27/08/2019 22:50

Ooh Sadie is lovely!

Love the suggestion above of Eden too

Heh1991 · 27/08/2019 23:54

I love Edie and think Rose and Edie are a lovely combination.

I hate Sadie and to me Sadie and Ruby are names that I associate with pet dogs (no offence to anyone just my personal experience!)

Sophronia · 27/08/2019 23:56

Edie but I’d have Edith on the birth certificate.

SE13Mummy · 28/08/2019 00:02

I like Sadie and Edie but if I were naming the sister of Rose, I'd choose a name that didn't end with an 'ee' sound. I love Edith with Rose and like that both girls would then have multiple nickname options.

MrsBertBibby · 28/08/2019 00:46

Edith, not Edie. Or Eden (so faddy)

Sadie is very nice.

Astronica · 28/08/2019 01:19

Of your list I like Edie best with Rose, though I do love Ruby too. Eden is good and you still get Edie if you want.

Shadow1234 · 28/08/2019 05:19

Eden is lovely
followed by Edie
Not keen on Sadie or Ruby

RachelEllenR · 28/08/2019 08:11

Edie (Eden) is my favourite. Ruby is ok but not so sure on it with Rose. Really dislike Sadie.

AverageMummy · 28/08/2019 08:13

I wouldn’t do Ruby and Rose
Sadie is lovely
Love the suggestion of Eden
