I think Ruth is due a comeback. It's a lovely name.

Rainbowhairdontcare · 27/08/2019 17:27

Some of the spellings are funny, any reason why Rebekah inst as of Rebecca? In Hebrew it's Rivkah.

Love Ira but think about the IRA.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 27/08/2019 17:29

Well that depends. Are your boys names obviously biblical, like Ezra, or more common usage like Daniel?

My kids have biblical names but ones where their modern usage is more well known than their biblical routes. Think Elizabeth and Matthew sort of thing.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 27/08/2019 17:30

*roots I mean, not routes Hmm

Evangeline and Magdalena have always been on our lists of girls names with all 3 babies Smile

Catbrat · 27/08/2019 17:43

Reuben, Gabriel, Keziah and Phoebe are my favourites.
My youngest is Reuben, only come across one other Reuben. I always get compliments on his name. He was very almost a Gabriel.

Shadow1234 · 27/08/2019 18:00

Evangeline is lovely. Lois would be my second choice
Micah or Ezra are my two favourites from the boys list

finallychangedmyusername · 27/08/2019 20:27

I really like Lydia, Keziah, Rebekah and Hannah. I like pretty much all of your boys names, favourites are (in no particular order) Seth, Isaac, Asher, Joel, Jared, Alexander, Ethan, Jonah, Matthew, Zachary, Lucas, Thomas, Reuben and Nathaniel. Your boys list is pretty much mine! Grin

If you're wanting more mainstream then Thomas or Hannah. Or more unusual Asher and Keziah.

NannyR · 27/08/2019 20:32

Keziah is a great name. Sapphira isn't a particularly inspirational character in Acts, she's a liar and drops dead instantly because of the lies she told.

alessandrae83 · 27/08/2019 20:38

That has kind of ruined sapphira but it is so pretty

IsobelRae23 · 27/08/2019 21:17

I love Micah and don’t like any of the girls names, sorry.

CoffeeRunner · 27/08/2019 21:21

I like all of your boy names! Especially Isaac, Ezra, Caleb & Levi.

Of your girls names I would only personally use Leah or Esther.

vampirethriller · 28/08/2019 11:11

My daughters middle name is Keturah, so I think it's lovelyGrin
Boys names I like Jared and Seth (daughter would have been Seth if she was a boy.)
Miriam and Atarah are nice too.

Enko · 28/08/2019 15:15

Really like

Elizabeth
Julia
Keziah (joint 1st)
Phoebe (joint 1st- however my dd's name so obviously I like it)
Rebekah
(gosh I sound mega traditional here and usually I am not)

Asa
Asher
Ezra
Ira
Jonah

Really not keen on Caleb personally..

GnomeoNameo · 28/08/2019 19:54

Martha and Ruth and Esther

Lucas and Tobias or Mark (or John is good)

littlemama18 · 28/08/2019 20:08

Evangeline, Ezra and Jared I love

TeacupDrama · 28/08/2019 20:22

While in the Bible Jesse is the Father of David to many it may sound too similar to the Girls name Jessie and the fact that it is not seen as manly, as mentioned above Sapphira is not a good role model
Evangeline isn't actually a biblical name but it derived from the greek work evangelist meaning bringer of good news, and Magdalena is a place ie Mary from the village of Magdalen, the others are all actual names of people except Zachary which is derivative of Zechariah
some of them we know nothing about they are just in a list of names but none apart from Sapphira are really negative I mean no one wants their child to be a Herod or Jezebel

Rachelover40 · 28/08/2019 20:25

They're all good names. I wouldn't choose Keturah because I knew someone of that name who wasn't very......nice..... but that's no reason for someone else not to choose it.

Also I find it weird when people struggle with the concept of Jesse as a male name. I’ve only ever known male Jesses, I know a couple of Jessica’s who shorten their name to Jess but Jesse has always been very much a boys name to me.
