Does everyone think it’s too character-ish?
Or do you just think mermaid πŸ§œπŸ½β€β™€οΈ πŸ˜‚
I love it tho! X

I love it.

Girlundercover · 26/08/2019 21:08

I think washing powder myself

ParkheadParadise · 26/08/2019 21:10

Same as Girlundercover

miagerbies · 26/08/2019 21:11

I prefer Arielle

twolobsters · 26/08/2019 21:12

Always loved it!

Mouthfulofquiz · 26/08/2019 21:13

I’ve only ever heard it as a boy’s name.

crustycrab · 26/08/2019 21:13

She's not a Disney princess

fromthefloorboardsup · 26/08/2019 21:14

Mermaid or washing powder, sorry!

missmouse101 · 26/08/2019 21:15

Television aerial? That's what think when I hear it.

GwenCooper81 · 26/08/2019 21:15

It's lovely.. But I've heard it a few times for Fillipino males which puts me off.

whenweallfallasleep · 26/08/2019 21:15

Very pretty but there's a new version of the Little Mermaid coming out soon so it may be about to get popular

DandyLyon · 26/08/2019 21:16

I think of The Tempest - love the meaning and I considered it myself. Go for it!

Iwantacookie · 26/08/2019 21:16

Love it but I would have to pronounce it the way Sebastian does though.

AverageMummy · 26/08/2019 21:18

Don’t like it

bridgetreilly · 26/08/2019 21:20

I think it's male in the Tempest, isn't it? Or at least undetermined. I really wouldn't name my child after the leading brand of washing powder, no.

user1493494961 · 26/08/2019 21:24

Washing powder, I'd have a re-think if I were you.

DandyLyon · 26/08/2019 21:24

@bridgetreilly yes, undetermined and historically played by both sexes so could be used for either

BackforGood · 26/08/2019 21:46

Don't like it. I think TV aerial first, then washing powder next.

joystir59 · 26/08/2019 21:48

Nope. Not an acceptable name for either sex imo. Ariadne, Abigail, Annette

DramaAlpaca · 26/08/2019 21:52

I think Shakespeare first. Then I think that I wish it wasn't a washing powder because I love the name Ariel. Sadly the association makes it unusable to me.

PrincessLouis · 26/08/2019 22:33

I think Shakespeare - it’s a bit try-hard

Also makes me think of Ariel Sharon, Israeli PM, male

UrsulaPandress · 26/08/2019 22:35

Shakespeare.

Probably male.

Love it.

Frith2013 · 26/08/2019 22:39

Like The Tempest.

It was on my short list but was too confusing with Ariel Sharon at the time.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 26/08/2019 23:04

I know a child called arielle pronounced arri-ell, much prettier imo

LarkDescending · 26/08/2019 23:10

I think I would have liked it if is wasn’t for the washing powder.

How about Oriel or Auriel instead?
