How about Lerryn instead? It’s Cornish.

StillIRise87 · 25/08/2019 21:13

Dont be silly!

Swisskit · 25/08/2019 21:15

Is it pronounced Lenny un or Lennin? Doesn't matter as it's dreadful regardless.

Speakercube · 25/08/2019 21:20

Yeah agree wiv other poster- night for bonker baby name ideas. Is it a full 🎑

pippadowney · 25/08/2019 21:24

Ah.
Blush Blush Blush
Shall we put this down to pg hormones and forget it ever happened?
Looks like it’s gonna be a long night of reading through name lists, I’ll probably be back tomorrow with another thread.
Some of your responses have made me chuckle though, think I’ve started the first baby name thread with a universally negative response? Wouldn’t expect it from anyone but me tbh

Leona (Trotsk y)?

SierraNevada · 25/08/2019 21:29

I’m of Russian heritage but it’s a niet from me too. There are some nice Russian names though if you can steer away from the dictators and swivel-eyed loons such as Rasputin.

BangingOn · 25/08/2019 21:35

This has really made me laugh. When I was full of name angst and pregnancy hormones the Nameberry website was a godsend.

Frith2013 · 25/08/2019 21:38

As in Vladimir?

Dearie me.

LightDrizzle · 25/08/2019 21:46

Star-Lyn could be Lacie-Mae's slightly bossy sister.

Genius!

ChildminderMum · 25/08/2019 21:48

If you want to call her Lenin I'd spell in Lenin.

How about Leni?

Obsidian77 · 25/08/2019 21:53

Star-Lyn is actually quite pretty. Wink
But Lennyn?
It's even worse than the Icarus and Ignatius combo someone was punting last week.
Back to the drawing board op

C0untDucku1a · 25/08/2019 21:57

I know a female lenny.

Or leonie or leona? Both lovely.

Peony?

evilharpy · 25/08/2019 21:57

I didn’t get Star-Lyn straight away. Took me a minute but now I can’t stop chuckling Grin please call her Star-Lyn, OP.

Thank goodness you’ve realised that Lennyn is a shit idea, bless your cotton socks. Leona would be similar but less dictatory.

SemperIdem · 25/08/2019 21:59

@pippadowney if it makes you feel any better, you are definitely not the first to suggest a name that went on to be universally hated.

Still not convinced you haven’t done this thread for laughs/an education test though.

HavelockVetinari · 25/08/2019 22:00

Ah bless those pregnancy hormones! I was v thankful for the wisdom of this nest of vipers when I was expecting Grin

Congratulations on your DD to be Flowers

AverageMummy · 26/08/2019 02:52

Died at Star-Lyn Grin

OP don’t be embarrassed be thankful we’ve saved you from a lifetime of ‘pardon?’

What about Lena? I think that’s beautiful & has the bonus of not being a Dictator

Cleopatrai · 26/08/2019 03:23

Star-Lyn made me laugh so hard, I can’t. Grin

NeelixFelicis · 26/08/2019 04:05

Star-Lyn GrinGrinGrin

Frith2013 · 26/08/2019 17:17

Even Star-Lyn is ridiculous! Has no one ever seen a starling?

ThatCurlyGirl · 26/08/2019 17:21

Bless you and your pregnancy hormones OP!

Sorry if you've felt silly by comments on here... but I think you know it was a silly name 😂

It has negative connotations and isn't a regular spelling so would be confusing for people.

Are there other names you like?

ThatCurlyGirl · 26/08/2019 17:22

Wait I just saw Star-Lyn (Stalin) and now think you're taking the Mickey out of us 😂

iklboo · 26/08/2019 17:23

Even Star-Lyn is ridiculous! Has no one ever seen a starling?

The PPs are having a play on words for Stalin.

AlliKaneErikson · 27/08/2019 00:28

Lerryn yes (I also know a Lerin) but Lennyn, no.

drivingtofrance · 04/09/2019 08:09

I just saw a Starlyn on a Facebook group I'm on.
